What did you do to your 4th gen. Legacy today? Vol - 10

Max - what rear arms are those?

Finished pump gas tune on 93 - car still hasn't blown up or started making any new noises. Guess .0035 is a tad on the noisy side. Makes me wonder if the .003 PTWC I was originally running wouldn't have rubbed had it been set with a proper torque plate bore op..... original drop-in Manleys went into factory bores measured round @ free state...

You would have the rest of the airbags active in the car other than the passenger dash and missing SRS (because the seat isn't there.)

In theory, I think that would work.

I hate messing with airbags, hopefully I'll never need them; but the last thing I want to do is to regret not having them if they were needed...

Yeah I was thinking about that for only road trips, since I'll be the only driver and she'll be in the passenger side back seat. When I get back to town I'll put the passenger seat back in. Sounds like more trouble than it's worth.

Ordered the ball joint removal tool for next week's overhaul. Dropped off aluminum pieces to get old stuff pressed out and new stuff in.

I went with Super Pro anti-lift kit for the front control arm, but only just now realizing it shipped with two different sized voids in the main bushing. Awesome.

If that's the scenario; I would consider sliding the passenger seat forward, remove the headrest (if needed) and lay the back flat. That should get a pretty cool effect for your daughter of open space and feeling more like she's part of the front as she doesn't have to stair at a seat back.

Not on my car but my middle son's 2010OB blew brake line in the back. I guess it is the splitter as the car went completely no brakes with no warning. Good thing he was taking a slow turn into rural road coming home. It being a stick he was able to get home safely by engine braking. Will have it towed to the dealer and intend on pushing SOA to cover the repair at least partially. There are streaks of brake fluid on the driveway and puddle under the car.

Paint is still in great shape all things considered.

One day I still dream of getting her painted Steel Blue Mica.

Will detail the inside later this week.

Your car looks good man. Are these headlights JDM? Can't remember if you made the switch. They look new!

Thanks!

Those are the original USDM headlights for now.

I opened them up and removed the orange reflector, cleaned up them, then applied the blue tinted Lamin-X.

If SOA drops the ball and the 2010 OB can use the same fix as the 05-09 LGT, then I have a full set of everything needed to fix the rear lines (Nicopp tubing, fittings, flare tool, etc.) if it's of any use. Let me know, I'd be happy to send it off your way for a decent discount. Didn't end up using it since the lines on my LGT are not nearly as awful as I thought they were, and I'm lazy so I decided against tearing them out and replacing them.

A little sad today. Finally took the driver's side cam carriers/caps off and got to see how bad the journals are. The one bucket is actually stuck underneath the lip of crushed aluminum journal. :(

For context, the car that I got this engine from went YNANSB about 60k miles ago. Subaru replaced the bottom end and ONLY the passenger side head under warranty, and this is the head that was just put back on. I guess it's been fine for the last 60k but that sure is a lot of wear. :(

Guess I'll have my extra set of heads refreshed instead of this, since they're a proper matching set. Looks like a full head refresh will be $500-$1000 with a fairly long lead time, so I'm heavily, heavily considering buying a 20x in the mean time and learning to tune on it. Local place has them at $650, and got a quote from iWire for the exhaust AVCS harness. Cheap enough for me to be on the fence about it. I also got an E85 station installed recently so I think that would go well with the higher CR of the 20x. I know you guys don't like 20x swaps around here though.

I don't have any strong opinion one way or the other. You know what I do like though? People learning to wrench and take care of the their vehicles, mechanically or electronically. Especially after seeing those journals. You do you!

do you have a full list of what it takes to rebuild the lines? I'm probably overdue

Appreciate the offer, hope I can get it done by the dealer though, I am in no mood right now to get under the car and start ripping those lines out.

Dropped it off at the dealer tonight. We'll see what happens tomorrow. service and parts guys know me on a first name basis so they

will do what they can within their powers. I'll make sure they get paid for the fix will be and I'll take it from there with SOA. Little concerned that 2010 did it, makes me think about mine and my oldest son's 2005s. Huh.

Preface : Yes, I went overboard with the pink arrows. I thought they would be helpful but before I knew it they were everywhere. Being I do my best work in paint.net, I could not go back and delete ones I didn't want.

Got pretty far on front suspension refresh. Both sides are in the same state. Brakes tomorrow and I should be good to go! Well, that and one heck of an alignment.

Did I also try really hard to drain the brake lines into a jar and managed not to spill a drop? Yep!! Did I then spill most of the jar onto the floor? Yea, maybe. Is it going to ruin my already shitty floor paint and possibly my compressor hose? Definitely and hopefully not.

New:

Knuckles

Inner and Outer tie rods

Ball joint

Sway bar bushing and linkages

Front and rear LCA bushings (pressed in by local mechanic, job proved too much for my friend's #2 press)

New to me:

Aluminum LCA's

Bilstein's (JDM GT Rev.B according to this post OEM Bilstein explainer
