  1. Yea the abs sequence control basically just activates the abs to dislodge any air that might have gotten stuck in it if you did something dumb like I did. A lot of people will just go out to a dirt road and lock up to activate it but for a different reason, my abs won't activate. It's an issue with vdc. I did bench bleed the master, well gravity bled it, there's not enough space to get the secondary line fully off, or I'm just being dumb. But it seems alright, went for a slow drive last night and it was fine but wasn't able to check am emergency braking situation so it's parked until I can. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Right front too! Yea the lower seal failed after about a year and a half on the car. I think it was holding together OK but I decided to pull it to inspect the pads and as soon as I got it off it spit fluids everywhere. I got them from autozone so free replacement. Decided to just do the other side too. Might have been a mistake to do the one that didn't have any problems. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. If it doesn't work I'm going to try to find someone with a proper j2534 pass thru and see if I can get ssm3 to work with it. The internet seems to be mixed if it will work out not. That's the only way I've found to cycle the abs pump. If a j2534 doesn't work then it'll either be a trip to the dealer or trying a vx diag device. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I haven't, I've looked into using some sort of power bleeder, since I typically work alone, but every time I'm like well I won't do that again any time soon. Gave another in depth bleed tonight and got a bunch of air out of one of the back calipers and it seems to be better now. I had a reman caliper fail and didn't have the money to front the replacement so I ended up leaving the brake system open for an extended period of time, obviously a terrible decision. 5. Well I done did it. While bleeding the brakes I let the master cylinder get dry. I think I may have gotten air stuck in the abs pump. It looks like older subarus you could cycle the pump by jumping certain pins but best I can tell you need the SSM software to do it on our cars. Unfortunately I'm not able to just go out and engage the abs system to try to dislodge the air.
  6. The sidewall is the tire is hitting the lower spring mount. I tried a 5mm spacer and got 7.5 turns (tire rack says 8 minimum) but then it was hitting the fender on very small bumps. Took off the flare and realized there's not much lip to roll. Thought about cutting the fender to make it a "real" fender flare. Idk how a pull would work out with reattaching the flare. Decided that's all too much headache. Going to buy stock size on stock wheels which I know will fit (and is 0.7" taller than the tallest size that will fit per tire faq). I think in the spring I'll try a 235/45 to get the extra height clearance and should allow the 8" wheel to fit without a spacer. Oddly my passenger side clears the bigger wheel and tire combo without a spacer. Doesn't really make sense in any way I can figure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. So I grabbed some used winter tires thinking they were a good deal and not realizing they are 235/55 on 17x8 wheels. Since I'm on legacy struts they were hitting the strut. With a 5mm spacer they are hitting the fender. The stock stuff 225/55 17x7 fit without problems. Is anyone running a 225/55 on an 8" wheel? Or 235/50 or something on legacy struts. Tein springs if that matters. Just looking at putting my hands on something else now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Hey all, Friend of mine down in Columbia SC is having troubles with her trans not wanting to go into gear and an oil change didn't help. It's a 13 outback 6mt. Does anyone have a shop they trust to diagnose it. She's been having trouble finding a good place. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. That's what I did. $45 worth of hardware for 8 bolts. The real problem is with supply chain issues atm and buying through the dealer, I have no idea how long it's going to take. Especially if they have another dealer send them usps. Last parts I ordered I ended up canceling after a month of waiting. Alternatively the local mom and pop hardware store has an amazing selection of nuts and bolts at 1/3rd the price. Flanged, 10.9, the whole deal. But even with the bolt seized in place I don't feel safe driving down there with hardware missing to check thread pitches. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Been busy with other car/work/life stuff so haven't been around. Rear tires are getting eaten up by wonky alignment issues so got the kta124 finally on black Friday sale so I can get rear toe all the way to zero. Trailing arm bushings soon as well so then all suspension soft parts will have been replaced and should finally stop killing tires. Does anyone know the sizes of bolt and nut I could use to replicate the whiteline kca307? Bolts are mostly free but I'm concerned about them being frozen to the bushing. Also found rust on the quarter. Booooo. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. There are times when I'd like an ever so slightly quicker spin down of the engine and the exedy flywheel is lighter without going crazy light or expensive. Changing clutches is a pain since I work in my apartment parking lot so it's a do it right the first time thing. I also was only running a stage 1 tune that whole time so if you're planning to change out the down pipe or turbo, consider a stronger clutch. Because as mentioned it's not exactly convenient to change. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Pretty sure that's what I used. I had to get the other flywheel and it looks like that was the part number I was given from some of the other forum users. For bolts I used the wrx hex flywheel bolts. Because torx sucks. Mine came out with no issues though. https://www.fastwrx.com/products/oem-subaru-flywheel-bolts 50k+ no problems. I would have used the lightweight flywheel if I did it again. Fjk1001fw on rockauto for $425. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I'd drive for that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. I can mostly sleep in the wagon at 6'2. Gotta angle just right and use a sleeping pad or it's horrid. The real problem is trying to get out in the morning. That's an absolutely great prize/contest. I support this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Richwood west Virginia is pretty central for an eastern meet. Boston is about 12hrs. Anything this year should probably happen in early October before people put cars away or winter closes mountain roads. Richwood to us 219, the Highland scenic highway, is supposed to be picturesque, can't say much for "fun" as I've never been. October 10, 17, or 24 I would think would be the narrow window of time off approvals and before winter maybe. Looking at the map I see it's near snowshoe so depending on how many people would be interested, driving it east to west might be better as I'm guessing people would plan to get there Saturday. Drive the route Sunday morning and head home. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. I more meant the "this dunkin donuts doesn't care when 30 of us show up on Sundays cuz we buy things" sorta cars and coffee. Is cars and coffee an official organization? I always thought it was more a genre. I've also been into cars for maybe two years lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. Fwiw I did tail of the dragon this summer and like. It's definitely a road. I personally wouldn't go outta my way for it. Lots of traffic. Got stuck behind someone hauling jet skis. I hate Kansas mostly because that's where I spun a rod bearing two days after purchase. I'm willing to travel. I'd offer to help plan but am also notoriously unreliable. The meet in the middle is why rally cross nationals is always somewhere I don't want to go lol. I had kinda thought more of a cars and coffee kinda meet. Sorta a not need to rent a space thing but who knows. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Booo. Is it different from the normal kartboy shifter? Cuz if not Tom might want to know he discontinued his product lol. In all seriousness that sucks though. Good luck in getting your money back. I've always had good luck with PayPal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. If that's the part I'm thinking it is, I don't know of anything aftermarket. Looks like TiC makes the same thing you posted. Idk if wrx ones are the same size though because I found these. https://www.oakos.com/TIC_04-05_STI_SLB.htm Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Who in Kentucky owns horse property? Louisville is only like 14 hours from you. Is Kentucky nice? I don't much care for the south but I'll show up in a big ass hat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Come November I have literally zero free time. Just found out I got accepted to a coding boot camp. I've wanted to do some sort of legacy meet up regardless since coming to the Midwest but covid and life. Anyone got a drone? Convoy of wagons through Montana would look phenomenal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Yall are killing me with this wagonfest thing. It's even at dirtfish. Maybe next year and I'll just start a convoy with anyone coming from the northeast. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Everything fits with a welder! Turn downs aren't too expensive if you can handle the idea of cutting stuff. I've thought about doing that eh the stp cat back. Main thought with that is everyone seems to love the stp. I had grimmspeed catted dp, stock mid pipe with resonator and nothing else. Loud obviously but I liked it. Mid pipe hanger snapped on me though so put my stock back on but spaced out. "Hawgzaust" style. I'll likely get nameless mufflers (not deletes). If I get bored of that then I'd like to try stp and just throw in an exhaust cut out. I think Maxcapacity has an actual custom setup he likes. And like I said, everything fits with a welder. 24. I have an obdlink mx but they've updated it twice over the last few years. Has anyone confirmed if btssm works on the newer versions? The ones on the site are getting harder to find. Maybe trying to port the app to ios can be one of my coding projects.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. My grille is just starting to show some wear issues after two years and 50k miles and I did a terrible job at prep. Looks great! I hadn't really thought to plastidip interior bits. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
