Silverstar
I'm considering an APS BOV. I've found a used unit with a WRX flange. I'm afraid if I weld the flange on, there won't be enough clearance to the hood. Would something like this work to connect the WRX adapter to the X02 FMIC BOV fitting? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1-1-28mm-90-elbow-Silicone-radiator-Hose-koyo-dc2-rsx_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33601QQihZ017QQitemZ270368495375QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW Here is the BOV I'm considering: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1737818 TIA! Silverstar
Anyone know if this kit comes with any kind of fitting for a BOV? I'm no longer condsidering the unit above, but would like to use the EVO style APS...that is if this kit comes with a univerisal type hose fitting.. 05gtlimited300
the kit does not come with a bov flange. if youd like a LGT style one or wrx/sti type flange, you can get both through WBR.
executor485
Agreed, Here is my set up stock turbo Stock airbox Stock cbe x02 FMIC Hks catless up x02 catless dp spec stg2+ clutch spec LWF TA E-tune I thought that you had to use a CAI? How did you get the stock airbox to work with the FMIC? If I pass you on the right, I'm flipping you off.

Spec B
It could be done...but you need to modify the stock airbox and implement the use of zipties..there are pics posted somewhere.

executor485
http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=109003&highlight=FMIC+Airbox Good find... From what it looks like... You can use the induction cover thing instead of hacking your airbox... Or you can use the walkthrough they had somewhere on here to make your own rather than hacking the box as well. http://www.fredbeansparts.com/servlet/the-970/Blitz-Subaru-Legacy-GT/Detail http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=61782&highlight=blitz+cover+walkthrough If I pass you on the right, I'm flipping you off. tingtang
thats really wierd.... my xo2 FMIC came with brackets and it came bead rolled.... i dunno.... i heard of people having issues with pipes blowin off so i was gonna get them bead rolled anyways but when i got them all the pipes were already done.... and it also came with 2 brackets for the 2 holes on the top of the intercooler... i did get the 9in core and not the 12... only difference is my core doesnt say xo2 on the top of it like urs do.... but im super excited on putting it on... i just hope i dont trim too much on the bumper like someone was sayin makes it looks not aligned.... hey 05gtlimited300 do you think you can take a picture of how the aem fits with the fmic... and how close that filter sits next to the IC piping??? i have a heat shield that goes around my aem CAI but not to block heat... more like blocking water... and since the fog lights are going to be out and a hole exposing the air filter i thought it might be a good idea for me to put a heat shield on it... but if i can see a picture of that area maybe?? to see if that will even be a option for me.... i might have to ghetto rig something up... haha... i like the pipes showin so i dont wanna cover it... executor485
i like the pipes showin so i dont wanna cover it... But then ppl might think that its actually a functional IC rather than a interfooler... Spec B
tingtang...make sure you cut those brackets on the IC piping before the install...they will only get in the way and make you trim more bumerage.
itsme
I don't known why they left those on. Racer X FMIC for '05-'09 LGTs, '08+ WRX and '10+ LGT,'14+ FXT, and '15+ WRX TMIC Racerxengineering.com
tingtang
do u mean make them shorter?? thanks for the FYI... ill remember... trim bracket before trimming bumper... thanks
Spec B
My kit came with 3 brackets on the pipes..you should cut them completely off, they do not serve any function. One bracket ends up somewhere near the ABS lines (in the engine bay) the other 2 end up where the fogs are and make it really difficult to install the bumper. I didn;t cut them and I ended up having to hack the bumper a lot more. Check it..see the one on bracket in the passenger side fog lamp opening, there is one just like it on the right (behind the bumper. Just cut them completely off..as close as you can to the pipe. I already cut the one shown in the picture and I plan on removing the bumper to cut the other one.

tingtang
^ it doesnt look like ur intake sits as low as mine??? damn... i dont think theres any room for the heat shield... are you covering your fogs?? ur not worried on water splash?? on mine the intake sits pretty much right behind the fog light... and with that open it kinda scares me.... so you guys are talking about the brackets that come on the pipe??? i think i only saw one or 2 pipes that had mounting brackets on them... u guys cut them off completely??
05gtlimited300
^yeah im going to be covering the fogs eventually. trying to mock up some fogs that may fit or im going to get the OEM n/a covers, i dont know yet. Im not to worried about water getting in there. Yes some will, but not enough to get sucked up through the intake. The two pipes that have mounting brackets are the ones connecting to the intercooler. Both brackets should be cut down as close to the piping as you can or just enough to clear the bumper in order to put the skin back on without hassle
tingtang
that is so wierd.... i definately do not have a bracket on that left pipe where the fog is... any1 care to explain??? ill post a pic of my kit as soon as i can... trademark
lets just say some water does make it through the filter worst case it messes up the MAF right?
tingtang
my worry isnt sucking in water as in hydro lock... but if the filter gets wet at all it will suck water up and hit the MAF... which will throw a CEL...

tingtang
i dont kno if it messes up the maf.. but it will throw a CEL because its reading too high voltage... it will just rob power thats all...

kevkel33leg05
I thought that you had to use a CAI? How did you get the stock airbox to work with the FMIC? Looks like People already covered this but i used the stock airbox half. Then instead of hacking the other half of my airbox i just put RVT around the filter and sat it in. NP with it. Here is a picture of it just sitting in there. http://i397.photobucket.com/albums/pp60/kevkel50/DSC01236.jpg

Think I'm gonna go the FMIC route, just gotta sell my STi tmic and IM now :S Thinking this is an easier and more efficient way to go with the vf39 rather than having to rip apart my IM and re-route vacuum lines and the works. true?
