Yfarmeaahka
So pretty much kind of like a custom tune with logs and not just a set tune slapped on?
bmx045
custom tuned with logs (one would hope)
ericem
looks better? Cleaned the maf, replace the maf o-ring, and installed a turbosmart bpv.
bmx045
yeah, better, low load knock still exists.
ericem
the piston on the turbosmart bpv seems easy to push compared to the stock one is that normal ? Didnt really make a difference .
bmx045
It should be adjustable. Log boost ad see if youre hitting target. If not either you have a boost leak or the spring is too soft on the bpv.
ericem
ya it is hitting 15 and tapering to11-12 psi by redline.
ericem
ah so im back again cleaned the air filter finally. Car is running great but ummmm check this lv. I think that bpv closing making the knock sound is actually being recorded as knock whenever I give it throttle
ericem
I am actually curious if i should just swap back to the stock bpv and send this turbosmart kompact i bought used to turbosmart and see if they replace it or fix it?
bmx045
put the stock one back in and retest. why do you have an aftermarket, you're only stage 1?
ericem
because it looks nicer. Swapped it back to stock. There is nothing wrong with it really its a brass piston hitting aluminum.
ericem
wellllll today popped in the stock one and guess what I think the knock is actually picked up from the a/c clutch. Now check out my trims.... hmm soo the question keep oem or pop back in the turbosmart? Car seemed quicker I think hard to tell. Also i did not reset my ecu which i probably should have. Turkeylord
So, I rescaled my injectors for E85 (AP, so I multiplied the scalar by 1.3) and flashed the tune a week ago or whatever. I'd been watching the A/F learning and ranges B, C & D were all like +7%, but A was pegged at +15%. So I added another 10% to the scalar, and now B, C & D are <1, but A still moves around from +13.4 to +15. Should I really add another 15%? That seems like I'd be so far off from what it should be theorhetically... I did test the fuel, showed 82% ethanol. Everything seems to be running great, DAM at 1.0, etc... bmx045
try adjusting your maf scale in 0-5.60g/s range up a little at a time, like 5%, and recheck. you're only running lean at idle

ericem
bmx (aka my tuner) i got a new lv reset thee ecu did some pulls at all sorts of rpms in all sorts of gears at many different positions of throttle and with a bunch of idling and this was the outcome with the stock bpv also this lv and last lv i have cleaned my k & n filter which i think has resulted in positive trims? Mega Users seabass07 Posted June 20, 2012 Mega Users Share Posted June 20, 2012 The trims are fine, but keep doing LV's. The last two LV's look like an obese crack whore's ass. What makes you think it's the A/C clutch causing false knock?
bmx045
Eric, I'm not your tuner. Im not helping you outside of this thread.
fahr_side
1. Put a clean, new, stock air filter in. 2. Drive the car normally for a week. 3. Grab an LV and send it to the professional tuner who created your map for his review. Obligatory 'build thread' Increased capacity to 2.7 liters, still turbo, but no longer need spark plugs. ericem
it has a infamous stage 1 ots tune he said the scaling is stock . Need a dp baddd! Btw i basically reset it and idled a bit than wot like 10 times lol.
fahr_side
If you fit a DP you are by definition stg2 and at that point you're best served with an e-tune at least and a hands-on pro-tune better still. The ECU does some very rough corrections after a reset because it doesn't have much data to work with. Just drive normally for a week and check again. Seriously, ditch the K&N and clean your MAF sensor. Washable filters let a lot of dirt through if dry and when oiled that oil can easily end up on the sensor. Either will skew the readings and thus your MAF scaling.
