Replaced driveshaft, extension housing seal and bolts. Bearing wore out - was squealing. Got a cool seal puller and made a PVC seal driver.

I got the same seal puller, excellent tool. Works like magic for camshaft and cv axle seals.

Not that I've seen on the Subaru OE driveshaft.

The Driveshaft Store, where I got mine for the wagon, comes with replaceable U joints. I've posted about it...

174,000 miles and the bearing was chirping off and on for about 2 years before I realized what it was. Once the rubber tore it started banging the armrest.

Quick question: does anyone know off the top of their head of the power goes to the same pins on USDM and EDM radios for BL/BP? I have EDM FSM somewhere but figured I may ask it here.

Answer: Yes, pinout is the same.

I was hoping it was a one-piece replacement. I’ve always been tempted to get a carbon fiber driveshaft.

That would be in the other driveshaft shop...

I can't afford $1500 for one, but would love to try it.

We will have heat again! Now deciding if I want the panel in the oem location or hide it where the glovebox used to be…

Finally got the car back from the shop! Longest time the car has ever spent away from my possession.

Anyhow, the break in miles will be agony since I don't drive much. I have 1500 miles to drive before Prime / JR will tune the car. No noticeable change in driving characteristics so far with the IAG 700 long block w/ GSC S1 cams.

For those who have followed my earlier posts, Blouch replaced the CHRA and exhaust housing. They found some contaminants and saw some pitting in the housing, most likely piston fragments when the crowns cracked on the dyno.

Looks great - glad you have it back! I missed the story of the pistons failing on the dyno - were they the original stock pistons?

@xt2005bonbon Damn that sucks. Where did you get the hub bearing assembly?

It came from a vendor on ebay. I know I know, when you say 'ebay' you may think junk but it's not always the case..

It was part number HUB497T-1 and it did have the 'NTN JAPAN' stamp on the side. I'll attach a pic..

Now, side note... I just found this on Alibaba.... They look identical and look at the price! I could buy 5 of these for 170$ shipped!

I should add, to be fair, that I do drive offroad a lot and fast at time on some pretty bumpy stuff... That's not helping. But at the same time, I can't even remember when I changed my rear wheel bearings last. I'd have to check my logs but it's been a looong time.
