What did you do to your 4th gen. Legacy today? Vol - 10

No Rotella T6 around here either, might have to look at LiquiMoly again, I believe Napa carries it.

Got the car ready to go to the shop to get External setup installed, Modified VF52 turbo to pump out some POWA, New protune, see what's the deal with my weird smell that is trans fluid :lol:, getting and inspection, once that car is all done, clean it up and put my gold wheels back on, and I am ready for summer. Or ready for it to sit in the garage :lol::lol::spin: shooting for the 350 mark for sure. I will post up what I get. Stay tuned.

 

Oh have fresh Amsoil Full spas 5w-40 and filter, and a fresh full tank of 93 :mad::eek: cause IM RICH, not really I am crying haah.

So my engine has always had a very faint light knocking noise at idle ever since day one. I'm in a drive through and I just heard it stop. Kinda reminds me of that one saying, it's bad when something stops leaking because that's means there's no fluid left.

 

May need a new short block by end of day.

New wheels and tires finally set. Much different look than the snowflakes I had on before, which are now my winter wheels since one is slightly bent and I can't get a replacement. Look is growing on me, and the Michelin PS4S is a great tire both wet and dry. I'll make an addition to the wheel fitment thread with specs once I can find it.

Amsoil has 5w-40 all day errr day :lol:check it out.

 

As some may know, both my cars have been on this oil since 2013. I do 7-8000 mile oil changes. Amsoil may cost a bit more up front, but the benefits and longer intervals, make it a good deal. I went to longer intervals based on the results from Blackstone labs.

 

The wagon's ej257 has over 150,000 miles on it and has none of the Subaru engine noises. My driving range has changed since retirement, but both cars are driven for longer drivers when they are driven.

 

Just saying.

 

 

 

I think NORULZleggy can take care of you with this. Mike at AZPinstalls.com got me into this oil and I have been a preferred member since then.

305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD).  CHECK your oil, these cars use it.

I'm still eagerly awaiting for the VW bearing number...

 

Also, I still just use whatever 5w40 or 0w40 I can get my hands on (usually Castrol or Mobil 1). I change at 4k miles and use an oem filter so I don't worry about it.

245/40/17? PS4S is an amazing tire. Even the AS4S is pretty good.

On Saturday both cars got new wiper blades and the 2005 got a new PS pump o-ring (the upper supply line from the reservoir), which seems to have stopped the leak, and also had the nut on one wiper arm tightened.

 

Ordered three more PCV hoses this morning to be replaced when the left valve cover gasket and injectors get done. I think all the larger PCV hoses will then be new and only smaller vacuum lines are original.

Waffle! Those wheels look amazing. It was between these or the RPF1s for my first set, but I decided a few months ago these would be my second set for dedicated HPDE. The RPF1s are currently wrapped in MPS4S, and I am also happy with the tire.

Following...as the money pit at my house now needs front wheel bearings done at 79k. What is everyone using? Thinking of going the Napa route as they say lifetime. It will have never seize after the first one so shouldn't be a horrible job, not that you want to do it often.

I know, they are more expensive for sure, but I've never had great luck with aftermarket wheel bearings so I only use OEM. For me, its an opportunity cost as they "can" be a bitch to replace. The lifetime warranty is nice but I guess I'd rather go one and done for a long time. :)

Installed some Timken on the OBXT last year. They were bought thru Rock Auto years ago.

Since I was replacing both from CV figured it was time. Sure enough... Was a good move.

Still on stock wheel set so probably not pushed hard over their life. Seems most go thru them faster on larger wheels with more offset.

Oil change with STP synthetic diesel 5w40, Mazda filter and two Napa front wheel bearings today. The car is much quiter. My trusty shop did the work. I like to golf and glamp rather than spend my little bit of free time wrenching these days. It costs me but such is life.

Got my replacement mirror in today from a WTB post. Community ftw.

 

Bearings. Thanks fellas. Added to the growing front end tighten up to-do list. I used to laugh at all the posts from dads saying their Leggy had taken a backseat to other members of the fam. Jokes on me now. I get it. But my boy is nearly two and is just getting into cars. Pretty fun to see.

Ok so they are FAG wheel bearing hubs is what I have on my car, they are made in Germany from what the shop was saying. they have tons more lube than what most brands have and they last like crazy. Hey and who doesn't like more lube ahahaah :lol::spin:

 

Now I am waiting on the car to be completed.
