Today I got the rear bumper and headlights reinstalled. Hopefully I can get the front bumper and lip on tomorrow since it will be our last sunny day.f27c813934584f14efb1a47b154846ef.jpg90a78c40ccba505ac0c1ff534588c157.jpg236cb339dec816b69ad442a1c76fce96.jpgb3747485c8eb43cada80c25dfef198f5.jpg
Is there green grass where you are????!!!!

I posted a pic of my recent drive in the white stuff. We have about 14" and counting. It hasn't been above 25 in weeks lol. Getting the sled out for a rip tomorrow.

I enjoy stalking pics, or the background that is. Tell us about the area rug? Did she change her mind lol?

Got a small question, since I peeped it in your photos: how do you find the Quickjacks? I'm considering moving soonish and am looking into either these or the Maxjax. Currently don't have a workable garage so being able to do work without putting up a full two post lift would be amazing.

They're awesome. I use them all of the time. Obviously a two post lift is superior but these give quite a bit of lift. The only thing I haven't tried is removing the transmission underneath (space wise).

I love my quickjacks, they are amazing.

Watch their refurb section, you can get $300-500 off for something next to new.

HomeDepot also has them on sale (to be shipped) from time to time.

Costco will carry them on their site as well.

I have the BL-7000EXT because I have an odyssey and a few others that I use it for.

I think the updated version they just came out with are 3" higher now.

I'm about to drop a tranny out with them, so we'll see how that goes.

Mine came from Costco. BL-7000SLX's too. Yesterday I put the dolly kit on them, so they are easy to move around the floor.

Thought about the maxjacks too, but they can only be used in one place. Yes they go higher, but you're locked into one place to mount them.

In a three-car garage they might be better...

open the photo in post #111 you'll see the Spec B them last weekend.

I had the Outback on them too, it get's a bit higher because of the spacers because the car is higher.

Removing a transmission is tight but doable. You can also fashion a larger lift block out of a piece of 6*6. I'm in the same situation as you and do all my work in a driveway. I feel much safer wrestling parts under the QuickJack than those teetering jack stands.

Even with the quickjacks if you have some 2x6's about 12" long, you could drive the up on them and then maybe add some of the rubber spacer blocks that come with the quickjacks. That will add a little height.

Had to fix an exhaust leak today. It was at the end of mid pipe the Y pipe, 3" gasket. It was -10F at 7:30am today outside, the garage was at 40F inside. I bumped the heater up a little, so the temp was about 50F inside. Plenty warm enough to work in there.

You can see in the picture where I put some red RTV on the new gasket on the cardboard behind the rear tire.

Oh, yeah, this was the first time I've used the quickjacks since I put the dolly/casters on them. It was so EASY to push them around the floor. I even used the push broom to move them. The caster kit was $329 from ESTY. Looking around the WEB, I see one guy had found some stick on ball style rollers and used some bolt on casters on the rear end of the jacks. He had to drill holes in the quickjacks, but that shouldn't a big issue for most of us. I wonder how those stick rollers will hold up over time...

We should probably take this quickjack discussion to the correct forum. If we're going to talk more about them.

Thanks. I just need to be patient for warmer weather, so I can paint inside. I'm not known to be a patient person...

I took delivery of my new lug nuts. My old ones (top) were no longer in production, and the next best I could find were the exact same ones, but they have the logo on them (bottom). Ordered 6months ago, they finally arrived! I really just wanted a sterile, good-looking lug like my old ones, so they didn't draw unnecessary attention to them. I threw on my new tires for the front, washed the car up, and took a drive to and through Mt. Rainier's south gate with a good friend, forum member Ckwaters, to put the car through some twists and turns!

So I tore my front end apart because I thought the drive axels were failing and they seem fine. I had the knocks at low speed turning, knock from forward to reverse but the axles seem fine. And the bearings seem fine. Is this something that only shows under load or do I look somewhere else?

Top hats? Sway-bar endlinks? That's about all that's left I could think of assuming your LCA bushings all look fine.

I've had clunking in my front-end for a while now that I thought was endlinks, but didn't go away even after I replaced them. I found the top nut holding my coilovers to the top-hat were loose, and re-snugging them helped lessen the noise, but still there. I have new coilovers coming so hoping it goes away after they're replaced since I can't think of anything else that could cause it at this point.

Cleaned my maf sensor, added (yes added, as in it wasn't there) a BPV o-ring, that I replaced last year when I installed a brand new BPV with o-ring, installed a non-leaking intercooler.

I did the quick leak test through the BPV signal line and the old intercooler was leaking at the crimp close to the turbo outlet. The "new" one passed the quick test.

Others have reported an incidence of noise from the front end that emulates as knocks or clacks or clunks, but it's not from suspension or suspension-related bits. Check your calipers and brake pins. When things get cold, those tend to bind and/or stick then release. Worth it just to get in there and check your pistons, sliders, and your pad wear. Check your sliders for inordinate wear and lube up if all good. Replace as required.

Added coolant to my magician's box - it seems to make coolant disappear at the wave of a wand. Not sure who is holding that wand but randomly he waves it once every 4 to 6 months and boom, coolant gone. Maybe it's time to pull the O2 sensor and check for contamination.
