lordchilly
As an update I am hitting 18 lbs of boost now after installing a smaller pill. Things look good and I finally sent Infamous the first official 3rd gear pull with everything working. The vf43 pulls hard in the mid-range. wowza. great street turbo for the money. My tuner went to check for a pill and there wasnt one. I got an 07LGT. He installed a EBCS and tuned it to 19lbs of boost. Is my engine going to blow without the pill? m sprank
no. that is why you have an ebcs. no pill needed with the 3 port. pill is used with OEM boost control solenoid.

lordchilly
oh yea...you are right. Now I have to get one more clamp. I used one for my turbo inlet....it keeps coming loose...so I clamp it down with the T-clamp.
fatsuby
I bought this kit from a member here who never put it on his car, the only thing is I have a STI engine in the car, I wasn't sur how much work it was gonna be to make this fit. we managed to fit the kit with minimal work done to the piping, the guy who sold me the kit had already cut the cold pipe for his tall batterie, so I left it that way with the supplied coupler, I bought a 45 degree 2.5 coupler and it fits perfect.....I also used a 90 degree 2 inch coupler at the turbo because it fitted better than the supplied pipe.... the only problem now is the BOV flange didn't fit with my sti blowoff so I had to weld it to the bracket until I buy rhe hks flange just thought I would share this........ http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff102/fatsuby/lgtmoteur.jpg http://i239.photobucket.com/albums/ff102/fatsuby/lgtfmic.jpg

m sprank
As promised I reinstalled the kit on my 5EAT using what I learned after tearing down my SpecB. This time I took pix for all to see what I did to modify things. Both my kits fit almost perfect now. Core is dead center. Pipes do not touch anything that can hurt them, or that they can hurt. OEM airbox is being used still too. Lots of pix, sorry to those using slower speed ISP's. I will try and explain with the pix. 1st four pix show what was cut out of the car. 5th pic shows the "infamous" cam cover bolt removed. 6th and 7th pic show where I cut the cold side pipe and installed the hump hose coupler (supplied). This alleviates rubbing the cam cover bolt (even though I removed it) and allows for battery removal. The cut was made right on the mark left by the cam cover bolt. 8-10 are pix of the cold side pipe.
m sprank
2 more pix of cold side pipe. 3 pix of hot side pipe. Notice how it does still touch the cam cover at the top. It is touching on the coupler though. I put a piece of hose in between just for GP. There is nothing hard or sharp rubbing and the pipe still has some play (can move a bit). 2 pix of the pipes going under the car. 1 pic of the core and then... 2 pix showing the core is centered. Used a measuring tape (it does not lie). Measured from the welded on bungs to the center of the radiator support.
m sprank
Car is going back together in these pix. Tryed to show how the pipes are running and the clearances around things. Yes the overflow tank was removed for the install. I did not have to on my SpecB, but in the 5EAT for some reason it made a huge difference. Goes back in just fine. You can also see my clamps on the hump hose on the cold side pipe. The lower clamp is accessible from under the car. The upper is accessible from the top. Makes battery removal a snap. Just loosen the top clamp on the hump hose and the clamp at the "J" pipe. Then lift straight out. Goes back in reverse. Pipes used to barely touch my oil fill cap and master cylinder. Not anymore. Still put a piece of hose between the master cylinder and pipe, but it is loose.
m sprank
More general pix as things go back together. Trying to show everything for reference.
m sprank
Everything is back together and the car is actually running in these shots. Core is nice and centered. Pipes have better clearance than before. No more rubbing or touching. No more worrying about holes in pipes. I hope this helps some people with their kits. In the end I cut more metal out and made the modification to the hotside pipe. It made all the difference.
Balrock
I will spare the tons of picts, since my buddy MSprank has very detailed shots, but I'll throw a few in. http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc138/balrock01/ZR4/FMIC2.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc138/balrock01/ZR4/FMIC1.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc138/balrock01/ZR4/FMIC3.jpg http://i212.photobucket.com/albums/cc138/balrock01/ZR4/FMIC4.jpg I am still being revised on my tune, but I can tell a big difference with the heat and humidity. The car is not begging for mercy like it used to. I have only got on it hard for the data logs, so I am waiting before I give her a proper shake down. Boost cut is a cheap thrill! Mine did not line up well either. That is what I'm working on now. I finally got a uncut beam and I installed the kit on my car today. That second pipe on the hot side is off a bit when you install a STI style turbo. I will be in contact with my manufacture and get new pipes made. It's not just the clock of the turbos that is causing it. If I take out one of the bend on the second hotside pipe it should solve the problem. I don't like it not fitting right and I stand behind my product. I won't turn a blind eye and ignore a problem. This will be a big undertaking replacing 85 pipes. I will be in contact.
