What's your height/weight/build Josh?

5'9" 200lbs 35" waist. im overweght for my build. i should be 165-170lbs. all the fixed seats i try, i tend to just fit, but would be comfy if i lost the weight.

sparco fighter has been one of the more comfy seats ive tried.

Oh lord... A guy on NASIOC is selling a set of like-new matching Stradia II and Gias II out of his show car. Appears to be legit and hundreds less than my wholesale. These are the straight-Bride versions without the Cusco logo.

i guess we know what santa's gonna get the LGT for christmas!

I'm guessing you're looking for bling, otherwise, you could get something like this:

reclining seat - http://www.sparcousa.com/product/chrono-road

fixed seat - http://www.sparcousa.com/product/pro-2000-ii

seat base - http://www.sparcousa.com/product/seat-base-600-series

raised seat brackets - http://www.sparcousa.com/product/side-mount-aluminum-hd

sliders - http://www.sparcousa.com/product/track-set

I used all of these in one form or another, except the Chrono Road. Been looking for something more supportive for the sonic.

The fixed seat has worked great in the miata & xbox console seat and doesn't take much work to get out. Trade-off with a fixed seat is great support vs a bit harder to slide out of.

Yes partially JDM bling. I carry Sparco so that would be an even easier and likely less expensive than the custom-ordered Bride/Cuscos I also carry. I do appreciate your experience and feedback though John.

The seller from NASIOC and I have already agreed on price just waiting for pics and proof of purchase. I would be less likely to go with the Stradia/Gias if he wasn't offering such a good price.

Remember the Sonic has that damn armrest attached to the drivers seat only. If it's like the Cruze, there's only 2 nuts holding them to the floor and then the seats slide back. I'm over here trying to find LTZ/2LT/Diesel heated leather seats for super cheap.

I'd have to try them all out as I never really dealt with real racing seats/harness setup.

east cleveland, eh?

So, try out N. Miles Rd & Warrensville Center Rd. They interconnect is a nice continuous loop. Probably best after rush hour and with a radar detector hidden next to the mirror. A couple laps of that and you'll know what's going to work or not.

start with tightening the inertial reel. Then rotate the belt a couple of times before clicking it in. I find moving the seat forward so you can wedge your knees into the door & center console works pretty good. If you're really motivated, you can build side bolsters with rolled up towels.

The arm rest is useless. Having the seat as up-right as you can make it helps too.

Then haul around the corners as fast as you can handle it. If the tires aren't howling, you're not trying. In the sonic rs, it's not fun until the traction light is glowing and the tires are spinning.

if it wasn't for the built-in airbag, I'd swap the xbox racing seat into the sonic (it came out the miata, so it's legit).

The Chrono Road is a good looking seat. I'd definitely consider those, if they'd accept my seat heaters. Definitely a nicer price, especially buying two... but they claim to be for "larger drivers" AKA "Americans"

UD is on a JDM frame (me too at 5'11/155), so a 20-21" wide seat might be too much. However, not sure which version is supposed to be larger/smaller - the "Medium" or "Standard" :iam:

JDM frame...

Nowadays - yes. 7 years ago I was USDM, but I've just completed a driver-mod weight reduction to the tune of almost 90lbs. That is for another thread however.

We'll see if the seller is willing to jump through the hoops for all the pics and invoice I requested. If not I'm back leaning towards the Zeta/Gios. :spin:

I've an American butt however Chrono was a little loose for me. UD should be able to get the heating units to add to the Sparco. Sparco also has customization options by adding pads.

The R100 or R600/700 are narrower at 19.5 inches.

The Sparco Pro 2000 II is what's in the miata now. After a summer of eating better and gym workouts, it's no longer snug. So the Pro 2000 that came with the car will likely go back in for next year.

I'd be leery of too snug seats. The side bolsters did more for keeping in the seat than seat bolsters. YMMV

I'm just East of that in "East Cleveland Heights". The cops actually sit in that grassy median.

The LRR tires the eco gas has pisses off t/c and stabilitrac if you take an onramp higher than 60. Tuned, the tires spin before the light can come on to let you know the system stopped the spin. If you ever looking for cheap forged light oem, eco is the way to go. Google sonic eco and pics show up for what they look like on the car.

10 airbags, You could go w/o the seat ones. Having 06 seats in my 05 legacy for the longest until I got the 05 seat bottom had me staring at airbag light for ages. Original owner put a rally sticker over the passenger one.

Made the deal on the Stradia/Gias combo, with the wife's blessing!

Good to hear it went though! In for pics.

I chose the round DAMD wheel because I was shooting for more of a sports/grand touring sedan feel than a "sports car" feel. I love the wheel and am really uncertain I would switch to the flat bottom if I decide to swap it out for a red stitch model. Will need to see how it looks and feels once the seats are in place. May end up needing a bit of clearance to get my leg over the Gias knee bolster, in which case the flat wheel will have some functional benefit.

Yeah that's how that problem is solved

Get a detachable steering mount. You'll be much happier.

Keep in mind that was back when I was daily driving the car. It's a garage queen and weekend toy now, which is ridiculous for an economy sedan I bought new for $23k I realize, but now it's more about doing what is fun than what is strictly "practical".

@Boxkita - let's not get ahead of ourselves here. Wallet has not recovered from the seat purchase and my wife already spotted me looking at more parts. Must tread lightly. :hide:

Haha I like where your head is at Flinkly. If that isn't in the top 5 red flags for the IRS though, I don't know what is!

Plus I like to keep business and personal completely separate. Never know when some knucklehead is going to hit you with a frivolous lawsuit. Seen it happen to others too many times. :(
