Yeah, the car needed some more oomph. Though I'm surprised they weren't able to get more out of it, with 20% more displacement. Was hoping for 20% more HP! I think they got close with torque, which is a good start. The "torque dip" aka the space between the two efficiency peaks (2400-3400 and 4500-6500) has been minimized, but only because the peaks have been lowered, IMO. Still a good improvement in power, while only gaining a few lbs in vehicle weight. I'm on the fence about on the styling, however...

But does it have AWD? At least it's symmetrical...

Everything you tip for is "included"... Tips are, by definition, extra on what you've already paid for. Services are tippable (tippable?), whether or not it's an all-inclusive spot, unless it explicitly says no tipping. -
Meme's '09 Outback to Legacy wagon!

Sounds like you've got a vision, and a plan. Nice writing, too. I'm tuned in! -

If barely getting paid, this sounds like a decent job. Stingy tippers, though. You'd expect more from monied resort-goers -
Each time you paint, you get better. That's the best part about making mistakes We ended up using a relatively hard clear from Automotive Art, with a different approach since I was trying to keep some peel. 3 good wet coats, and then light buffing. I love the look of glass-smooth paint, but was going for an OEM appearance. Keep up the good work, definitely tuned in over here.

It's all about the learning process. And at the end of the day, it's just paint, and can be sprayed again. Maintaining that wet edge is very important to avoid the tiger stripes you referenced, as I've learned (also the hard way!). Nibs and bugs will happen unless you're in a perfect booth, and even then, it's not foolproof. We painted my 944 outside in my driveway, for what it's worth. Nothing will be perfect, and chasing that is more trouble than it's worth!

I'm sorry to hear about KRB I haven't been on in about 3 years, as I was working long/odd hours, and not doing much with cars, having sold the spec B in '17. When I bought my BRZ I promised I'd keep it stock until off warranty (which is now up, hmm). The pandemic has ended my tennis coaching gig for the foreseeable future, so I've been getting back into cars to pass the time. It's been a nice distraction! -
Nice paint work! I recently did this with a friend, to my '84 944, and it's a process. Kudos to you for attempting it on your own. It's all in the prep, of course... Did you leave some orange peel on the car or take the clear down to smooth? Any bugs or nibs find their way into the paint?

Fulton! What's up? Not touching that one with a ten footah, brother. That's one deep rabbit hole!! Very nice. A friend just picked up a nicely optioned dealer leftover 2020 SQ5. Audi sure do know how to make an interior. -

Good as can be expected, I can't complain. Since I last posted up in here, I'd been coaching tennis, steering clear of the car hobby, then covid came. Since lockdown in March I've been playing with a few project cars. Rebuilt and painted an '84 Porsche 944, reviving a 92 Mazda MX-3 V6, as well as a low-mileage E46. Still got the Volvo 740 Turbo wagon, and the BRZ. Too many in the driveway, and that's not counting the 944 parts car or my ES300 beater How's things by you? -

Same old! Still have the BRZ, 60k miles on her now, but have been distracted lately by old 944's... fun cars to mess with. How goes it here? Usual suspects still hanging out? How's everyone been?? Fidel is back too, I see. Merry Christmas, LGT -

I think it looks cool faded. It says project/rescued/original car, with priorities elsewhere -
