Hops
My downpipe is about 6" short of my exhaust and if the uppipe and downpipe were changed to where the turbo could move back an inch or two, it would be perfect. There is room. Hopefully these guys will take care of this problem for me. Buy my cars!
Mortal2None
Geoff always seems to have issues with the Legacy fitment. Otherwise his stuff is top shelf. That is a big turbo though. I didn't expect the fitment to be that tight.
Hops
It is top notch stuff... I hope they can fix it for me. Buy my cars!
Guest
They better do. I've been planning on going with this setup for my wagon #2, but there is no way I am buying something that fits like crap. 08 Impreza firewall/engine bay is identical to Legacy (also downpipe), so there is no excuse for this. Granted the orientation of the ABS module is different, but still.
Hops
You can see in these pictures where this turbo needs to go. http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n121/JDMChizad/9921d33c.jpg http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n121/JDMChizad/74c0e4db.jpg http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n121/JDMChizad/fcdc1b48.jpg http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n121/JDMChizad/b88e47db.jpg Buy my cars! Guest
I think the turbo should be rotated 15-20% counter-clockwise. Then the intake would have a chance to clear the ABS unit and the wastegate actuator would not be hitting the strut tower. The proximity to the A/C line on the firewall is worrisome though. Hops
That is the plan for now. I'll post results later. Buy my cars!
Guest
Did Geoff respond and offered to fix the uppipe (and downpipe) ?
LittleBlueGT
On the GR chassis the ABS model has to moved to allow fitment. Our cars our similar to the GR chassis. Also, it should be easy to clock the turbo, I though that was one of the features, actuator on cartridge, not turbine housing. Hops
Did Geoff respond and offered to fix the uppipe (and downpipe) ? I emailed Raffi and sent him pictures yesterday. I'm sure he'll be on top of it on Monday. Buy my cars!
Hops
Clocked the turbo. Can't move the actuator... it will hit the exhaust housing. Buy my cars!
snow05gtRI
Finally!!! Box was damaged and boost control solenoid plastic bits are busted off. And here's my bad ass manifold. http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n121/JDMChizad/0366f506.jpg hmm so do the front cylinders power one scroll and the rear cylinders power another? looks like 2 separate paths throughout. Guest
Yes, that's how twinscroll header should be. Same on JDM headers. I don't think Full Race header though is truly equal length. I think the right side runner are shorter overall.
Guest
Looks like a guy on nasioc replaced the wg actuator with one looking like this: http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj219/johnsmm/IMG_0596.jpg

Hops
not surprised one bit that a pre-fab kit doesn't work You can make the manifold/uppipe/downpipe in house, right? How much would you charge? Would rather if the turbo fit like it's supposed to rather than f*ck with a bunch of other shit. Buy my cars!
Hops
Is it possible to relocate ABS lines?? Buy my cars!
ClimberDHexMods
Relocating the ABS module isn't particularly hard, but bending extension brake lines takes a lot of time. You basically buy several female-female brake line threaded couplers, and then you bend to fit new sections of individual brake lines to the relocated module. Hops
Talking to Raffi right now... Sending my downpipe back for them to make fit my exhaust. They'll be sending me a wastegate bracket that's just for Subies. And a new boost control solenoid. Now I just need to reroute power steering and ABS lines. Yippee! Buy my cars! I'll tell Bryson to put a hold on the fender rolling this week, so you can get your stuff figured out. Good Luck!
