Golf4283
So I ordered this. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/03-04-05-06-07-HONDA-ACCORD-CRV-FLIP-REMOTE-KEY-SHELL_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742Q2em153Q2el1262QQcategoryZ33723QQihZ008QQitemZ180318529817QQtcZphoto It just got here tonight and I did all the work using all original parts from my 2008 Key FOB. Therefore if you have an 08+ you can do this without any other parts besides the shell you purchase and a dremel. What I did was take all the innards of the old key out. Took the key itself from the old shell (had to crack old shell). I then traced the outline of the honda key that came with the new shell onto the base of my legacy key. After that just dremel the Legacy key to fit and bada bing you've got yourself a flip key. Honestly this took me about 20 minutes to do. http://www.legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=62048&stc=1&d=1231205825 http://www.legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=62047&stc=1&d=1231205786 http://www.legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=62046&stc=1&d=1231205743 http://www.legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=62045&stc=1&d=1231205694

Golf4283
came off the back of my old FOB. Just pried it up carefully and super glued it onto the back. I'd say it looks pretty slick. But thats just me! haha
DocHolladay23
I'd agree with that, looks good. Thanks for the info. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] You want stickers? Hit me up here!!! You want a shirt? Hit me up here!!!
Golf4283
Also someone was talking about not having a punch to punch out the pin. If this is the case I just used a small drill bit that would fit in the hole. Worked like a charm.
firepyro515
Yeah, i ended up using a small torx bit to punch out the retaining pin
spyguy
Correct, I had the Hyundai key cut but it didn't work. Also, when I ordered the shell on ebay I made sure it was one with nothing in it. hey doc, what do you mean you had the key cut but it didn't work???
DocHolladay23
^ I tried to have them cut the key blank (metal part) that came in the hyundai shell, but the shape was slightly off so it wouldn't work for my ignition. spyguy
so you used your old key by cutting it and putting it in the new flip key?
Golf4283
that's what I did. Also if any '08+ guys want this done shoot me a PM. I would be happy to do all the work for people and only charge a few bucks for my troubles.

firepyro515
Before you do that, i would go out and buy a new subaru key blank and have it cut to fit your key, that way you can tear up the blank and in the future, if you ever wanted to switch back, you just put the guts back into the old key
robertsm99
How'd you get the immobilizer chip out and where did you fit it inside? You don't have picture of the process do you? that's what I did. Also if any '08+ guys want this done shoot me a PM. I would be happy to do all the work for people and only charge a few bucks for my troubles. firepyro515
The immobilizer chip is located in the top left of the fob pictured http://c2.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/37/l_c6c7373c899943c8ac01c65dcae6de25.jpg I just used a very thin blade to pry it out, just be careful, i got it out just a little and then used tweezers to extract Then when you open the honda shell, it also goes in the top left of the fob pictured http://c4.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/51/l_55b5332abae4485f8bd8686e5787f01f.jpg There is no problem as far as distance from the ignition
GTkansan
Can you tell us the honda part number so we can get one and do this ourselves? And, for an 05 key, is the immobillizer chip similar in size? It would just be in the key itself correct?

He got his on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/03-04-05-06-07-HONDA-ACCORD-CRV-FLIP-REMOTE-KEY-SHELL_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742Q2em153Q2el1262QQcategoryZ33723QQihZ008QQitemZ180318529817QQtcZphoto
firepyro515
Yep. If you just go to ebay and search for a Honda Flip Key and then choose one that is an 03-07 with the 4 buttons configuration
PeterJMC
I just got the GiES stuff from the post office on my way to work. Took the stuff out and tried to see what would be needed to get the Subaru inards to work. The circuit board slides in there and there is a lot of room to work. Looks like a little bit of modification will be needed though. I'll work on this more when I get home.

You are correct on both accounts, at least according to the photos that I have seen. Zimm
What do you guys think about this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TOYOTA-CAMRY-4-RUNNER-LANDCRUSIER-PRIUS-FLIP-KEY-FLEX_W0QQitemZ280298330804QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item280298330804&_trksid=p3911.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A727%7C66%3A2%7C65%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318 I really like the looks of it but I can't figure out if it has the panic button on the back side (or how it folds up for that matter). firepyro515
The panic button should be on the back side towards the bottom, i don't know if it will line up with your fob. If you go to this thread -> http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=93465&page=8 and go down about halfway, you will see a pic of doc with his butchered key and where he found the immobilizer
