Ok, I got the honda shell today. The only problem is that they sent me the wrong remote. The seller sent me a non flip (all in one) key instead of the flip one that i ordered (DARN). I will tell you this, the buttons fit fine, the panic button is alittle smaller than the hole on the shell, but it fits.

All fits as in you took the Subaru guts out and put it into the Honda shell, no modifications?

I got the same result with my partner's key to his Honda Fit. The panic button is smaller, but the other buttons line up perfectly. Im ready to see that it works as easily with a honda flip, and then im buying the damn thing :).

++UPDATE++

Flip key is here, for us 08 guys, its on the easier side

This is it opened

I had to use a dremel and sand down part of the remote, the 3 blue hexagons

I also sanded a little bit on the green line, the panic button was pushing up against the casing

I also needed to sand part of the actual internal casing because it was just a little bit too wide (along the red lines)

My biggest dilemma is the actual key, the blank is pinned into the revolving part and i don't have a punch. Hopefully i can find some way to do it. If you guys have any suggestions, let me know!

I have a feeling that if you could get it to work, it wouldn't be that bad. The big problem would be getting it to work. If you look close enough, all the buttons are on one side. Our panic buttons are on the oppsite side.

He's talking about using the key blank from that remote with the honda shell.

No, hes talking about using a pre 08 remote. where the fob and key are separate. If you look at the fob of an 06 OB, you will see that it has 3 buttons on the front, and the panic button is on the back

Well, he said:

Maybe this key would fit in.

which I assumed was in regards to your key/pin/punch dilemma. I guess we'll have to wait until he comes back to see what he was referring to.

Aren't you having a problem because the key blank that came with the Honda remote won't fit in the Subaru ignition?

So, finally was able to get that key blank out, now all i have to do is find sometime to get the key cut.

The biggest advantage is carrying the key, with the new shell, you don't have the key sticking into your leg, alot easier to carry. Like i said, i haven't had the key cut yet (i just got it today) when i do, i will let you guys know how it works.

If you go back to page one, the one backlash found, i got one of those, and used that blank. The actual fob that backlash found is a piece of crap, the buttons don't work, a lot of hot glue and it most likely wont work, but the key blank is easy to remove (only screwed in)

Then, i popped the honda one out and just used the same pin to pin the blank subaru in

Cool. I'm going to have to get the pieces and make one for myself. Thanks.
