Time for a new short block

Recommended Posts

My latest rebuild - VF52/Grimspeed TMIC/Catted Downpipe/Catless Up-Pipe/DW65 Pump/EBC/Pro-Tune (18PSI) = 275AWHP/320AWTQ

And YES - that's on stock injectors.....:p - boost builds at 2,500 - but takes until 3,000 before full on 18PSI;)

Personally there's little difference in performance catted vs non - but pretty sure they look under the car for the cat during emissions testing:eek: - so it's price vs an emissions issue (ohh and a little bit of noise:p)....

A question I forgot to ask your DW65 did you install it yourself how easy is it to install?

I did not - I had a local shop do my install - although I do believe it's a drop in pump.

EDIT: I doubt it's terribly difficult - they charged 1 hr for install.

I looked at the site I don't want a racing flywheel

I dunno what to tell you.

The brand new OEM 07+ LGT single mass flywheel that I have sitting right here is stepped, not flat like the NA flywheels seem to be.

Install is very easy. The only challenge is getting the original fuel pump out of its housing; there are clips that have to be spread just right. I think there is a diy somewhere around here.

Edit:

Here is a thread detailing a dw300c. Install is the same.

You are talking about the motor side of the back of the flywheel is stepped? I'm not going to be doing The stock flywheel but I don't want a racing one.. if I can't figure out I'm just going to do a ACT streetlite I'm not going to spend $300 + for a FW

Make sure to have less fuel in the tank when you remove it and some place to work where it does matter if you get fuel around.

I got about 1/3 left last time I was able to check lol

Got the VF52 in today it's going to be hard trying to figure out a time to drop off this motor when I get home it's after 6 pm and I leave for work at 6 am the sucky things for working 60 hours a week... man the turbine wheel is so much larger on the VF52 what's the wastegate pressure on them 14-15 lbs? Or is it 13?

More like 11psi on average.

Obligatory 'build thread' Increased capacity to 2.7 liters, still turbo, but no longer need spark plugs.

Another question is the pill size in the hose the same size between the vf40 and 52?

No they're not, but you should ditch the pills and tee, and run a 3-port BCS.
