mobey
Yeah I have some experience with plasti dipping, I don't exactly want to go that route with wheels. I'm really looking to get a good set of wheels but with saving to buy a house it's hard to budget them in and not feel guilty haha. fedaykin
I mean I'm looking at $225/per wheel with those. That's right there with some konigs, rotas, and enkei's that I was also looking at. I'm not saying they aren't "cheap" wheels, I'm just saying they're in that same range that I see people spend. I do appreciate all your guys feedback! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Man, if you have access to cheap Konig and Enkei, wouldn't even bother with cheapo brands like Varrstoen. Spending a bit on wheels and tyres can be the difference between getting home and being stranded (or worse). Remember what connects your car to the road. fredrik94087
So would no one recommend Cosmis Racing Wheels? Their roughly $3-350 per wheel. I guess I used the word "cheap" loosely. I meant to say low quality, brittle, crack prone, lack of QA, etc. There are a lot of low quality wheels manufacturers out there that will gladly take your money at $300 a piece. That said, here is a short review of cosmis wheels and how they stood up to punishment. http://my350z.com/forum/wheels-and-tires/580315-cosmis-racing-wheels-thread.html "It's within spec" - SOA "Depth is only shallowness viewed from the side." - Fredism "So, how much did it cost for your car to be undriveable ." - Stephen (very close friend) "You have done so much it would be stupid to go back." - Sunny of Guru Electronics 2018Q50RS | 2015WrxThread | Shrek
GhiaAddict
Link was helpful to some extent. I feel for what I will be doing with the car, these will fit the bill. The 9" width and +33 offset with a 235/45 should give me a over 4" sidewall and .5" larger overall diameter, and sit pretty flush. Should make for a great DD wheel. Timothy.B
I've been looking at wheels just so I have an idea of how much it's gonna cost when the time comes. I think I've got it down to a size I feel looks good. 18x8.5 on 245/45/18: http://legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=163664&d=1379885520 Was looking at 40's but I feel the extra 5 would keep some of the cushion and fills in the wheel arches a bit better. I've always felt the car needed some bigger tires and wheels. I'm not sure on the offset though. Any thoughts? cww516
With those wheel and tire specs, +45 will fit without requiring fender modifications, and you may be able to go a little lower than that before you have to start playing the roll/pull game. Timothy.B
Awesome, thank you. I don't really plan on going lower. If I do, it'd be less than an inch. Timothy.B's 2011 LEGACY 3.6R
cww516
Oops, I meant lower as in offset, not as in suspension height. I think (read: hope) those specs will be fine with a mild drop, find out for sure sometime after I make up my mind on springs...

Well the picture I linked was those specs, plus they had coilovers (unsure how low it was) I just wasn't sure about the offset to prevent rubbing when turning. This is my first car that I'm actually buying wheels for and not just repairing stuff that breaks Timothy.B's 2011 LEGACY 3.6R
cww516
Same for me, I know how you feel. I ended up with 18x8.5 +45 and 245/45R18 myself, still on stock suspension at the moment.

Timothy.B
*ding ding ding* Zee is correct. Now, I know what you guys are probably gonna say but...should I find some cheap Enkeis or go and get something like TSW's? I'm not gonna spend more than $250-300 a wheel though because I'll be getting some new rubber at the time. I know I'll save in the long run by being able to switch out sets in the driveway vs having them mount and balanced twice a year. chefdrew
So iam trying to narrow down my options, So any and all input about the below wheels would help a lot. Trying to figure out the best stance has been driving me crazy for the last few months. I am not interested in rolling or pulling. This is for a 2012 2.5 legacy. Deep Indigo Blue Pearl I cannot lower my car due to warranty void. Iam would also be open to a set of 18" OEM sport wheels! I also am aware on the traditional options of: Enkei Reijen TSW Nurburing Rota Gravel I am always looking forward from opinions of: 2SUBARU:attention: ATesser:attention: Unspoken:attention: I love these: http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/so-cal-avant-garde-m590-19x8-5-38-5x100-249687.html Mach 7 18x8 5x100 42 offset http://www.ebay.com/itm/18x8-Hypersilver-Wheel-Mach-M7-5x100-42-/121884172832?hash=item1c60dce220:g:B10AAOSwKtlWsgvP&vxp=mtr#vi-ilComp Miro Type 111 18x8.5 5x100 35 offset http://www.ebay.com/itm/MiRo-Type-111-18x8-5-5x100-35mm-Silver-Machined-Wheel-Rim-/301866107899? hash=item46489f43fb:g:6-wAAOSwa-dWtREk&vxp=mtr Rotiform Blaq R110 18x8.5 5x100 35 offset http://www.ebay.com/itm/Rotiform-BLQ-R110-18x8-5-5x100-35mm-Silver-Wheels-Rims-R110188579-35-/351562276081?hash=item51dabe9cf1:g:XvwAAOSwYHxWL7pV&vxp=mtr Niche M146 Essen 18x8 5x100 40 offset (my favorite) http://www.ebay.com/itm/Niche-M146-Essen-18x8-5x100-40mm-Silver-Machined-Wheel-Rim-/371513768843?fits=Year%3A2012%7CMake%3ASubaru%7CModel%3ALegacy%7CSubmodel%3A2.5i%7CEngine+-+Liter_Display%3A2.5L&hash=item567ff23b8b:g:AyEAAOSw~otWeBtn&vxp=mtr Edited February 25, 2016 by chefdrew
Timothy.B
Actually GT...mines black, haha. Only a few pics of it NOT covered in salt, atm. http://i.imgur.com/AaDKSxu.jpg I think you're right anyways. Browsing TireRack there's not a lot that IMO, look great (for black, it has to be gunmetal wheels) I don't like flashy. I really like the look of the TSW Nurburgrings but those I can't find in that size and bolt pattern. So Raijins it is! The 18x8.5's are on TireRack and $218 isn't bad. cww516
Well, first-hand experience tells me hyper silver looks pretty slick on black as well. Hyper silver isn't really all that flashy, it's more of a glossy gunmetal than a flashy silver. The inside of the barrel looks black if your looking at the face of the wheel straight-on, though, which is really cool. I'd try to get you a good real-world picture of the color, but mine came off in favor of the stockers with winter tires, and I didn't really do much cleaning.
