That's the exact setup I have for my car based on advice given in this thread and I couldn't be happier.

I got Mach ME8 19x8.5 +45

cheap-ish Federal Formoza tires 245/40

posted a few pages back

they are definitely not lightweight performance wheels.

bought mine as a package from americaswheel mounted/balanced/lugs. left out tpm. paid $1160 with fedex freight shipping. looks like the price on the brand has dropped a little. at the time it was the lowest price i could find on them; and I called them and ended up paying a few bucks less than the online list price.

had a few inches of snow a few weeks back and switched back to my skinnier 17s with taller sidewalls for the time being.

Test fitted the Miro 111 Very Matte Black 18x8.5 +35. Just about as flush as you can get without rolling or pulling fenders

What tires/tire size do you have on that? Looks sharp!!

I would go with 245/40-19. It is taller than stock, but it will fill out the wheel wells a bit and will actually make your speedo read closer to actual speed.

Is there a taller tire i could use for the 17" wheels to fill wheel well gap? or should i just move on from them?

SO just wondering, what lug nuts are you guys running? I just ordered my wheels and tires but not sure which lugs are SAFE to run. (Will post pictures here when I get them installed)

Are there any lug nuts in particular you are concerned about? I ask because the answer to your question (which ones are safe?) is really, really broad.

I know those cheap chinese "aluminum racing" lugs are not safe. I'm asking in regards to like those Muteki "forged steel" tuner lugs, or the McGards splines or the Gorilla spline lugs etc. I would love to use my OEM but theyre not conical type which I need for the aftermarket wheels.

I will say that I had a set of Muteki steel lugs and while I did like them, the finish on them didn't really last long after repeated removals/installations/retorquing and they started to accumulate a little surface rust where the finish was worn off.

I never questioned their safety, but I was hoping that they'd appear to be like-new for a bit longer than they did. Having said that, I have no idea if other options have a more durable finish.

Muteki, McGard and Gorilla are all top notch. Get steel, not aluminum. I have Gorilla on my GT and had them on my SS.

Thanks for the reply. That's the problem with some of these aftermarket manufacturers, they use terms like "forged steel", "forged aluminum", or "lightweight steel" or "1008 steel"?? etc... making me question their strength and safety and then confused about the whole thing..

Rust, definitely not what I want. I did read alot of reviews about Muteki and that they do chip easily. I don't need/want anything fancy. I was searching for OEM-like lugs with conical seats, but no luck so far.

if you want better wet handling, 760.

both are older compounds.

Trying to get a decent summer setup under 650ish with fairly good mileage I can put on them. Kind of a doubled edge sword to say that since summers generally wear faster but I drive 12-15k a summer, mostly highway

What size? And, does it have to be Bridgestone?
