apexjapan
Not this particular kit. The 2.5 RS kit is more likely to fit if you have the 2.5 motor. Regards, Paul Hansen http://www.avoturboworld.com
GEE-OTTO
That looks sweet, nice and smooth... will it fit a '98 Outback? NO not out of the box.
GEE-OTTO
Paul, WOW! My only dislike is the BOV I prefer the PSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHT! Pickup seems nice under boost
SSpeed
That's probably the response I needed anyway, the wife would kill me if I had the expense of turbo'ing her wagon, especially when she says "one fast car is all we need"...
dubunderpar
It does sound smooth, it's just hard to get an idea of how quick it is in the video.
apexjapan
That was 2nd gear going up a *sharp* incline, then 3rd and 4th to a alleged triple digit speed. I've had it in stock form enough to know I'd barely hit 55, maybe 60mph at that same point. This kit isn't going to make a standard 2.5-liter N/A into a firebreathing, 4 second 0-60 beast. If I really hammer it, it's a bit faster than a stock Legacy GT turbo but with more torque at lower rpm's. So think of it more like you've transplanted a big V6 in with some actual torque. GEE-OTTO
Wait that was potential a 1XX mph pull ! Damn man def looked like a 60 mph pull. I also enjoy how you present the comparison as real world terms "big V6 in with some actual torque" So could one change the BOV ?
apexjapan
It's a 100% recirculate BOV that is 50/50 via a removable plate. So leave the plate on and it'll be much quieter. Or if you are going to keep it running at 5psi, you don't need the BOV at all. 5psi isn't enough to fuss the turbocharger, and that's why the BOV is optional. And yeah, that was, um, a "potential" speed. <cough>4th gear<cough> I dunno if you call it a problem, but every time I shift into 5th and give it some gas, I keep trying to shift up a gear to 4th (because it feels like I'm in 3rd...). Regards, Paul Hansen http://www.avoturboworld.com That doesn't sound too bad at all. I was just using Sea-Tac as a reference point. I'll be at Olive and 7th ave at what seems like downtown Seattle. Google maps says 22 minutes north of Sea-Tac. I might have to see if I want anything else from you guys. Might as well skip on shipping, right? Southwest gives me 2 free bags! Generally, there's a few sales going on, from free shipping to 5% off to bigger discounts on specific items. Probably best just to send me a pm of all the things you may be interested in, though.. skiWA
Paul, Count me in! I am interested in hearing more/learning more about this upgrade. Regretting I didn't get the GT when I had the chance, but this would be perfect (enough for me!). I am from Seattle, but living in SoCal (close to the Mojave desert) area right now. I'll be back up in Seattle over the Christmas Holidays so maybe we can meet up sometime? Thanks for all your hard work - I've read the whole thread and super excited for this!
