scoobydoobie
thats the wheel I want... How do rota's do for weight? I want to upgrade the wheels to something STI-ish looking but want to drop weight and clear brembo's.... check out wheelweights.net. My Rota SDRs are fairly light @ 16.5lbs a piece, but they are also only 17 x 7.
N.sane
^some of the info on wheelweights.net is incorrect. If you do a quick Google search people have weighed them on their scale @ around 18lbs for the SDR. Nonetheless, it's still weight reduction from stock wheels. vitaliy_08
Why do you need a better camera when you can just edit them with an HDR program?
finalburden
Why do you need a better camera when you can just edit them with an HDR program? Because that makes the pictures worse.

crumbsnatcher
So if a 17x8, 17x7.5, 18x8, or 18x7.5 option isn't available in this great looking wheel, will I have rubbing issues if I run a 225 wide tires on these? I know that most people feel it is pointless to run anything less than 235 on 8.5 wide wheel, but I really want to avoid the whole tire rubbing & rolling fenders situation. Also, will this offset clear BBK setup? BTW - 93turbo2, your car looks hawt!!! Is that gunmetal or hyper black?
N.sane
It's gunmetal. 225/40/18 should be fine as long as you're not slammed. Not sure about BBK clearance though.
rnstein69
Most likely with a 225 tire on an 8.5" wide rim (depending on offset) you wont have rubbing issues. you might have to roll the rears a little bit, but I think that you should be ok. MiniStiGuy
225 on an 8.5 would just scream BROKEN!!!! because these are rota's not volks and with that little protection for the rim you are sure to crack it. I would go with a 235/40 as you get a bit more cushion to help absorb the jolts from road bumps. OEM HID's Rx330 Retro
vitaliy_08
Falken FK452 235/40/18 He actually does have 235 not
vitaliy_08
It looks like the Gravels weigh 22.9 lbs and they clear brembos according to suby_dude at NASIOC (#343)

naimouasta
but arent the 17in stockers around that weight anyway? the 18in spec b are even more.
N.sane
from what I've read, 17" stockers are between 20-21lbs.
93turbo2
Here's a few pics i took tonight. SnowBound BP5
from what I've read, 17" stockers are between 20-21lbs. So it's only a couple more pounds heavier plus you get the aggressive 8.5" width. That's not too bad.
lucas569
the wheels just dont look like they fit right... too bad.

Razor
So there is no way you can run these on a lgt without rolling and etc? That stinks.

N.sane
So there is no way you can run these on a lgt without rolling and etc? That stinks. I think he only had to roll the rears. You could probably get away with it if you use a 225/40/18 tire.
93turbo2
I think he only had to roll the rears. You could probably get away with it if you use a 225/40/18 tire. Actually I rolled all 4 corners to the on the safe side. I haven't had time to go have some camber dialed in the front. A 225/40/18 isn't recommended for an 8.5in wide rim. Most manufacturers list the max rim width for that size at 8in. and 235/40/18 min is 8.5in which is why I went with the 235s.
93turbo2
yeah that last picture just makes them look like they are like the 22' wheels people put on a C300. lol. Yeah I didn't like my last pix too much either, I raised the fronts 2 threads from what I orig. had with the sti bbs wheels on due to the rubbing. I'll most likely bring it back down when i have time to get some negative camber dialed in up front.
