05GT Guru
You must have been rolling in '95 scoring an '88!...my first car (also bought in '95) was a '78. It didn't have any features except a V8 and RWD...what else do you need? Central switches are a decent idea, some cars integrated better than others. Its cool, i got my first car in 2004 when i was 16, it was a 79 malibu with a straight 6, in a little under 3 months i put a cammed 355, with a turbo 350turbo trans with a shift kit. A ford 9inch with 3.73 gears. I drove it all year round with over 400trq these wisconsin winters are not fun for a new driver lol. It finally blew up and a friend of mine bought the engine did a complete build this time and now its a 12 to 1 comp ratio beast with a 300shot on it in a 89 lx mustang. The body and trans i sold for more then i bought the car for originally. That car didnt have AC or heat and for a month no radio lol. Also it kept blowing windshield wiper motors, i think i replaced 7 only paid for the first one cause they were all warrentied.
TheEricHarris
GM really needs to make the G8 GXP coupe DROOL! http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/News/articleId=125393 http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/MediaNav/articleId=125393/firstNav=Gallery/photoId=53558
Beanboy
If the wagon version arrives with a 6-speed manual, I might be tempted. -B http://www.standardshift.com
Kaycy
Yes i know what the center console is, and in late 80s camaros and in some saturns which is GM they have window and hatch release contorls right buy the shifter on the center console. I was just saying GM has had that since 1987 i believe so thats 21 years. In holdens or pontiacs the center console controls were placed there to save money. The company wanted a "lazy design" where they would convert their cars to left hand drive and not have to change much, just the steering wheel and handbrake. Look at the layout of the dashboard and the center sonsole, they are made "symmetrical". You guys have cars cheap there, did you know that the holden clubsport R8 in Astralia or GXP in the USA, costs over Au$65,000. I paid Au$60,340 for my 3.0RB liberty. NewLegGT67
I'm not sure if you mentioned but how does the insurance on the G8 GT compare to the LGT? I'm thinking it to be higher than the LGT because car that are affordable + powerful = high insurance. I'm probably the only person that has Wu-Tang Clan and Paul McCartney on their mp3. NewLegGT67
Insurance is the same as when I had the GT. I guess that makes sense because the LGT and G8 are in the same price neighborhood. However, I thought the LGT would have been a little ess due to it being one of the top cars as far as safefy goes. I'm probably the only person that has Wu-Tang Clan and Paul McCartney on their mp3. Kaycy
I expect the G8 to get top scores for safety. Previous gen Holden's scored well on crash tests. It has been tested already in Aussie, it's 4 star rated whilst even a 2005 Liberty/legacy is 5 star. The previous holden commodores were 3 star rated at best. They even sell a 2 star rated car (2008 Holden Barina- made by Daewoo). The 2001 Barina (Holden Corsa- Made by Opel) was 4 star rated. http://www.howsafeisyourcar.com.au/_scripts/search_results.php?SearchType=MakeModel&make_text=&model_text=&year_text=&MAKE=HOLDEN&MODEL=COMMODORE&YEAR=2005&Submit.x=52&Submit.y=15 http://www.howsafeisyourcar.com.au/_scripts/ancap_summary_result.php?IID=15239 Bottom line = Subaru safer than Holden in every aspect. 05GT Guru
The g8 is an awesome car, cheap , great looking, good power and its easy to get more power , reliable, seats people comfortably. Its a car you can drive through a high class country club and then tear some ass on the way out.

05GT Guru
I wouldnt want to ruin a car like that with AWD, its a beastly v8, keep it RWD
IwannaSportSedan
Good AWD would make it much more attractive in the midwest. Rear-biased, granted. A beastly V8 is nice, until it is mired in a ditch full of snow with your family inside it on a January night, with the temps dropping well below zero. Thanks, but I am not driving a high-output 2WD car in the snow. And that will affect my buying decisions, even if the 2WD car is fantastic otherwise. Low-output 2WD is managable, AWD of almost any sort is preferable. Subaru AWD with snow tires is damn near unbeatable.
05GT Guru
The g8 isnt everyones DD and its not like it make 370hp all the time lol, with snow tires people driver BMWs in the snow all the time, with the weight of the g8 and snow tires it would be easy to drive in the snow. Not to mention it has cylinder shut off so when your not flooring it its only a 4 cylinder.
