Boy this is depressing. All the work I have to do needs to be done on a lift at the present moment and we were planning on having our new garage completed by this point, however we had to pause construction till spring (bad weather & conditions). So right now the car is sitting in storage ready to have the drivetrain put in. So for now there are no real updates on the car. I'll grab some pics of it when I'm into where its stowed away.

Some know though that the car has a sister project now, this....

She's a 1966 Mustang Coupe with a 1968 302 V8, 4-spd manual (rare & desirable) 5 lug bolt pattern (rare) full and complete interior and she runs an drives.

With that said, I am still looking for a rust free 96-99 GT Wagon in white with a manual trans with no damage as I really want this project to end with a wagon

The Mustang will make a great build. Very rare combination. Would be really great if it were a numbers-matching stang. Did this start life as a 289 and then was upgraded to 302 or was it originally a 200 I-6?

BTW - If you can find one, a 99 Legacy L (30th anniversary version) BG would be perfect for your build. F/R disk brakes, moonroof, cruise, etc. all standard. Great build platform.

I dont really care that its not a numbers matching as I'm going to modify it. It originally began as a 200 I-6, however the people I bought it off were mechanics and went through and made sure everything on the drive train side was good and working (they tore the engine, trans and rear down) and they swapped in the correct rear.

I have yet to take the Air cleaner off to see if its a 2 or 4 bbl carb ('68 was the only year they offered the 4bbl in 230 hp form, vs 210). The car is rough, I'll have to replace both rear quarters and possibly the passengers door, however everything is there. All the glass is good, all the chrome trim is there, the original plaid trunk carpeting present, all the lights (except the headlights) are original w/ the FoMoCo stamping, hell as you can see I even have the original AM radio.

I will say though, drum breaks all around is sketchy! Needs some Brembos or somethin

Thanks Jamie, I have to get rid of a few cars before I can pick another up (you should see the driveway, there is zero room), so I was thinking of going after the wagon around tax refund time, but that one looks to be perfect for what I want. I think though I'm gonna take a ride south to the Georgia (state) area to find the Wagon. I absolutely need a good frame and chassis to handle the abuse and I just dont want to take the risk with a VT/ New england car until I have our lift setup in the garage so I can get it up in the air and really get anal on the underside....

I hear you about the rust/frame integrity... It just popped into my head from when I saw the ad last night after reading the thread.

Nice Stang btw. :) If you ever need a hand or something let me know. I should probably tell you about the "fun" I've been having over the past 2 months with my GT.

man, this looks like my dads old mustang. I only saw pics of it, he loved it and planned on keeping it. picked it up new back in the late 60's before he went into Vietnam. He let a cousin take care of it while we was away and he kindly wrapped it around a telephone poll.

Interested to learn which project is on the back burner now....?

Anything new since the last post?

BTW- did you ever sell the interior from the 99GT, and if not, is it cloth or leather?

My 206K daily driver could use a 'front seats' transplant!-
