But this Impreza is ghastly. No FLOW betweent he headlights grille, bumper, hood scoop. Its a shoddy collage. Even the bug eye WRX was better than this monstrocity. What idiot designers put a huge window between the rear window and the C-pillar on a Hatch??? The side view is copied off the Tribeca, wheres the originality? The rear of the car is probably the easist to digest, considering looking at this car is equivalent to eating puke, or raw liver or something. The rear too is flawed with the Altezza lights that feel like they dont really belong there. There is not a dash of inspiration in this design. They would have been better off just putting their drivetrain in a Civic SI hatch and re-badging it. At least that hatch has personality. Subaru owners want their cars to be evil and mean looking so they can generate fear on the road aimed at drivers of other brands. This car looks meek. No way can this hatch compete against the EVO sedan and hatch that are due out soon. The worst part is that the design of the EVO concept has been out for so long now, that one would think the subaru designers would hv read the reactions of the crowd to that and reflected those in their design. To sum it up, the design here is trying to prove they saying about MULLETS true. Business in the front, party in the back. And we all know full well what became of MULLETS. FAILURE! Those that say JDM body kits may have the answer WHo the hell wants to buy a new car and spend 3k or so extra to order body kits to make it look slightly appealing? It should come looking like a million bucks from the factory, in the 1st place. The new camry design is so much better and thats just a family sedan. Reason for my first impression is: Its no so much that its ugly... there is just nothing orginal or Impreza/WRX about it... These cars have always been 'different' often referred to as ugly...and they always grow on ya. As others have put this will be accepted and will sell well but more because it looks like a mismash of other cars there just isn't anything orginal. The narrow front end w/a a scoop that takes up 1/2 the hood and all the lined chrome stuff just is blah. Those tailights! C'mon let Mazda make all the ugly clear lights for cryin out loud. My dealership tried to convince me to wait for this car...Glad I didn't wait and scooped up an 07 Legacy wagon when I could...
