Im not smart, what am i looking at?

As far as I can tell, there isn't a gap between the spare tire well and the rear bumper which lowers the drag coefficient. Also adding the LGT side under aero pieces would help an OBXT.

do they fit?

been meaning to spend the $120 to get a set from Heuberger. assuming they actually have them in stock and that shipping isn't redic. or find a junkyard LGT to steal them from...

and yeah, lower drag coefficient thru a few design iterations. first looks like a fuel tank, no spare tire spot and "short" rear bumper. second is addition of spare tire spot. third shows a taller rear bumper to reduce backpressure/turbulence, lowering Cd (drag Coefficient).

science.

i've also been running without my front cover and have had a drop of 2 MPG since. could be from needed maintenance too, but seems too coincidental.

Yes, I got the S402 ones from Japan before I knew that the LGT ones were essentially the same. There is 1 more mounting tab on the S402 ones I think but the LGT ones should be much cheaper and there are plenty of mounting points.

I have had a Kartboy short throw shifter for years. I think it was rattling at high RPM. Looking at it, it looks like it was hitting the shifter surround in first.

Pulled it out and ground it down. No more contact.

That's a known issue that they bring up in the installation instructions.

Well see what happens. But my inspection guy shouldn't care. It's still a little rough. I just wanted to drive it at that point. I need to do some logging, but it doesn't feel much laggier.

Fall color is in full swing. So is the yard full of leaves. Ha. First year with a ride though, so not as bad as it was with a rake.

Did this today. (cross-posted in 5eat pride thread) Its half a Perrin manual trans mount and half oem 5EAT mount. Perrin rep said it would fit. not even close. But I made it work. Oem mount busted a stud during removal and was badly torn already so I had to do something. Looking forward to trying it out.

Also put another set of axles in, replaced an axle seal, and changed front diff fluid.

Finally got some dyno time!

Once everything was looking good, we pushed it as hard as possible, then pulled timing, added fuel, and in general made everything safer by a LOT(as per my request). Max power run made GREAT power, but a little choppy and unrefined. This was to be expected as we weren't going to be tuning here:

That's over 300 hp on a 5EAT!!! Holy crap!

Next, he added more fuel, lots more wastegate, and pulled a hair of timing so it would be safe on 91 as well(road trips!). Power delivery is buttery smooth and torque is flat. I freaking love it.

^the new tune solved your fueling issues?

Better... but still not perfect. It's a fairly aggressive harmonic around 2800rpm, comes and goes within a 125rpm range. It's also very noticeable around 1500, so it's definitely a harmonic issue.

My eventual plan to fix it is just a nice radium regulator/damper setup with a direct/damped feed and regulated return. I'll also probably do the FPCM mod as well.

Yay for salt. I found some rust on a couple coolant pipes. One had rusted a tiny pinhole. I replaced both, and I'm glad I saw them when I did.

You know... it's interesting what Mike says about adding extra line, in conjunction with that ID conference video posted. Perhaps I'll add another foot and a half of rubber fuel line and see what it does. At the moment, I have maybe 4" total of rubber fuel line in my system thanks to the ID braided lines. Did you ever get your sorted?

Mine was the same way when I rebuilt... rust everywhere. Thankfully for me, I was able to get away with sanding and respraying with some heavy duty frame paint. The coolant bypass tubes on the 2.5's behind the timing covers do the same thing as well.
