RooTBeeR
When I picked up my trans cooler hose at pepboys the other day, I grabbed some of these plastic rivets to replace all of my broken and rotten old ones. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/08/23/e9aa1c92989dc6e9b36b8abc356e1b89.jpg "Build" Thread <--Link (OLD) '05 EJ255 now a '13 EJ257 Bottom End w/D25 heads (NEW) Forever Slow [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

RooTBeeR
I found the culprit! The banjo bolt in the head for the turbo coolant return line. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/08/23/5b435fe139ec0406fe00c04ab8b26e85.jpg "Build" Thread <--Link (OLD) '05 EJ255 now a '13 EJ257 Bottom End w/D25 heads (NEW) Forever Slow [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Max Capacity
OK, where's the crush washer ? snm95ls
OK, where's the crush washer ? Is that a bent thread I see ? Optical distortion because of the liquid sitting on that part of the bolt.
RooTBeeR
OK, where's the crush washer ? Is that a bent thread I see ? Exactly! Some how I forgot the crush washers and didn't even have the bolt snugged down. A 10sec job with the engine out of the car. Took me like an hour. Max Capacity
I'll admit I had a coolant banjo lose to on my rebuild, but at least I had the crush washers, just had to snug it up. Good Luck. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. RooTBeeR
Yeah it's done. Full of coolant. Got the headlights back in. Got the grill back in. Got the O2 sensor in. Need to finish up the bumper. Re-Install the TMIC. Need to finish the turbo shields. Then I think pop the battery in and see if she cranks over. Max Capacity
Remember to turn the key to On a couple times for a few minutes so the ecu has a chance to primp the fuel system. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. RooTBeeR
I have the fuel pump fuse pulled so I can crank it over without starting to get oil to everything. And then I still have to go get gas because I pretty much was running on fumes when I parked it. RooTBeeR
I made it do a thing. Max Capacity
What's your piston to wall clearance ? 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. Max Capacity
I don't understand where that heavy knocking could be from. If it was a light knock, that would be valve train. But for some reason it does sound likes it up top. See if Underdog or m sprank can listen to it. PM them. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. FJuan
That is definitely a different kind of sound, not sure either what it would be. How was your oil pressure after start up? My wife's balls are delicious.
FJuan
Hard to hear on the video, is the sound more internal or external, like a loose bracket banging againt the motor? My wife's balls are delicious.
RooTBeeR
I have no gauges. I'm ordering APv3 right now. It's not clear in that vid. I'll get fresh gas and see what's going on, try to get a better vid. It almost sounds like a loose idler pulley or something. Can't hear it reved up, cant hear it at idle. FJuan
How old is the gas in the tank? My wife's balls are delicious.
RooTBeeR
Really old.(21 month...November of 2013) I didn't plan to fire it with out new gas. Last night I tried to turn it over just to get oil and coolant around in it and make sure it sounded right, but it only clicked. So i put the fuel fuse back in to see if it made a difference.(obviously it didn't) ended up finding the starter wire not plugged in, fixed that, and it fired right up. FJuan
I'm surprised that it even fire with that old ass gas. That could be knocks that you're experience, since there is very little octain lift in the fuel. Don't start the motor until you flush that tank. My wife's balls are delicious. RooTBeeR
I'm just going to fill it. There's so little in it I'm surprised it got pressure. It's below the red empty mark.
