foxrider28
IIRC had a conversation with someone about the boomba SSA and it was mentioned that the 5th gen did not come with the "cover plate" for some reason. I'm guessing SOA didn't expect us to be offroading our Legacies much.
02LGTSNJ
So the washer cost me .25 cents. I drilled an 8mm hole in a quarter. hahaha jk

Would you mind if I used your VIN number from one of you guys who have the plate to get it looked up? you mean from subaru? your VIN should do just fine for that, its certainly considered to be a piece off your car even if it wasn't actually on it. foxrider28
Same here 2010 no plate so it's very odd that some do and some dont. And I believe the PN is 22152AA040 the diagram says (-'10MY0907) and you'll need the bolt too Here's what I found http://parts.subaru.com/images/parts/subaru/fullsize/B14_12101277.png http://parts.subaru.com/images/parts/subaru/fullsize/B14_13001229.png http://parts.subaru.com/a/Subaru_2010_Legacy/_52445_6027622/MT--TRANSFER--EXTENSION-TRANSFER/B14-121-01.html

covertrussian
Does anyone have dimensions (diameter & height) of the stock bushings or the hole in which they sit in? Looks awfully similar to my Nissan one, might be able to use this bushing on my Nissan too. 05 LGT 16G 14psi 290whp/30mpg (SOLD) 12 OBP Stock 130whp/27mpg@87 Oct 00 G20t GT28r 10psi 250whp/36mpg 22 Ascent STOCK

It goes on the peg of the shifter arm on the side of the tranny and the cable end hoop goes over it. Did you look at the pics in the first few posts? covertrussian
I'm familiar with how these cable shifter bushings work, Nissan has been using them since 2002, Subaru is behind times as usual . Here is what my current bushings on the Nissan look like vs stock bushing on the right: http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t188/covertrussian/Cars/00%20G20t%20KH3/Drivetrain/RS6%20Swap/Shifter%20Bushings/RedLion_Bushing_003.jpg~original Here is how it looks installed, very similar to the 2010+ Legacy/Outback arms. I'm curious to see if I can use the Perrin on my Nissan and or use the Nissan one on the Outback http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t188/covertrussian/Cars/00%20G20t%20KH3/Drivetrain/RS6%20Swap/Shifter%20Bushings/RedLion_Bushing_006.jpg~original For the curious the other hole is for making the shifter be a short shifter, it's as easy as drilling a hole on those cars without having to remove the brackets. 05 LGT 16G 14psi 290whp/30mpg (SOLD) 12 OBP Stock 130whp/27mpg@87 Oct 00 G20t GT28r 10psi 250whp/36mpg 22 Ascent STOCK
GTEASER
I don't think anyone has ever measured the bushing. Just buy one for your Outback and then you can see if it works on the Nissan. covertrussian
Yeah I figured so, I was hoping that someone had the stock bushing laying around to measure it :-D. Maybe next time I'm under the outback I'll measure. If they are the same size, it would open up bushing options that you could use from Nissan community too . 05 LGT 16G 14psi 290whp/30mpg (SOLD) 12 OBP Stock 130whp/27mpg@87 Oct 00 G20t GT28r 10psi 250whp/36mpg 22 Ascent STOCK

covertrussian
Sweet! Much appreciated. These are cheap enough that I might just get one to test out, if it doesn't work just slap it on the Outback (assuming it's same as GT's) 05 LGT 16G 14psi 290whp/30mpg (SOLD) 12 OBP Stock 130whp/27mpg@87 Oct 00 G20t GT28r 10psi 250whp/36mpg 22 Ascent STOCK

MGT
Official first mod on my 2012 GT! Was a piece of cake and resulted in a much more solid feel paired with the STi Leather/Aluminum Knob and factory short throw shifter. Old bushing looked pretty rough as well... http://i.imgur.com/TQKYywm.png
BBPeik
One of the best mods you can make too. Pair that with the clutch damper delete and teh wrx short shift adapter and you will be thrilled. And now it begins My someday I will be done with it thread. Mrstacy
Get the shift stop too! How hard was doing the shift stop. I know there are videos showing a mechanic making it look easy, but to a non-mechanic, how hard is it?
cww516
As long as you don't drop any of the screws down inside the shifter box, it's pretty straightforward. It can be a little fiddly trying to get both the 1-2 stop and the 5-6 stop to stay where you want them long enough to get them tight, but it's not difficult.
