PrelateBishop
I'm always down to help. When you come by sometime, we'll talk grille and some options.. Couldn't be happier to hear that. Shoot me a PM and we'll exchange contact info, calendars, and figure out how much of my savings I'll be blowing through.
N.Y.X.
Hey N.Y.X - Couple questions 1. Do you have a link to a write-up on how to remove the bumper? 2. How did you remove the grill (mine might just be rusted on, but I have never had any luck pulling it off) 3. What kind of paint did you use on your headlights? Thanks Hey there, I think you have 1 & 2 answered, but I used rustoleum from home depot and Dupli-Color MC202 Yellow Metal Cast Anodized Color. Had a rough day at work, had a therapy session in the garage... http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/t503/childreth13/20151110_203436_zpsanwlqu3u.jpg http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/t503/childreth13/20151110_203443_zpsuhivo5nn.jpg http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/t503/childreth13/20151110_234112_zpsussacg2a.jpg http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/t503/childreth13/20151110_221123_zpsvkw3zsnf.jpg

N.Y.X.
Changed the oil with some schaeffer's 5w40, replaced the oil cooler gasket as well, added the mishimoto magnetic drain plug, finished the injectors and plan on knocking out the fuel pump tomorrow. http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/t503/childreth13/20151113_165000_zpsabpncnle.jpg http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/t503/childreth13/20151113_165354_zpsfunkkemf.jpg http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/t503/childreth13/20151113_200649_zpsyqguvy8o.jpg

Hahaha, I hear you there. Well after getting a lot more feedback on the rotella and having some local shops here, come together to give a seminar on oil and engine failure, I decided to go with the schaeffer's. Most of the performance shops around here have a 50 gal drum you can purchase by the quart. But after the seminar they offered a GB where I got a case of 12 qts for $80 picked up. Killer deal and I used it in my front diff maintenance a few months back and it felt amazing, better than the cocktail I ran in the LGT. http://www.schaefferoil.com/documents/244-9000-td.pdf http://www.schaefferoil.com/documents/244-9000-msds.pdf

Rhitter
you did your fuel pump install with a full tank? The installation was more fiddly than I expected. Took me awhile of just sitting at the table screwing around with parts. jealous of your build My OBXT build
N.Y.X.
Well I started the power part installs when I broke that plastic PCV pipe and had to order it. So I didn't feel like draining the tank and just went for it lol. It is mounted a little differently than the how to's and was kind of a paint to work loose with just my 2 hands. A helper would have been nice, but I am stubborn lol. Some updates.... Front brembos are on, dynotune done and ordered rear KNS adapters and ebrake pads for my rear brembos. http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/t503/childreth13/IMG_20151119_152329_zpsov2cirkt.jpg http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/t503/childreth13/20151120_090138_zpsyhzrjdgf.jpg http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/t503/childreth13/20151121_104024_zpsbe3e1bse.jpg http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/t503/childreth13/20151121_112421_zpsypdyptyl.jpg

Walked a 350Z no problem, it was great. I haven't got the rear brakes installed yet, but the fronts are night and day. Man those brembo's look good behind the Gravels. I need a set for myself! What's the boost at redline? Automatic trans? I haven't looked at many 16G dynos. Any idea what stock STIs do on this dyno? pic thread build thread
cryo
This was actually a topic I spent some time on the dyno. This is one of the "slow spooling" BNR16g's I have come across and regardless of what we did it didn't want to spool any quicker *ie mechanical wastegate adjustment, tuning adjustments etc* It may be worth diving back in to look at the wastegate actuator to see if it may be the issue but it still runs very well once in boost. Because of altitude the taper didn't show any real loss in hp so better to run lower boost with the same hp level. This thing will be fun on e85 and possibly a new/better/adjusted actuator as the 16g should be full song by 3300-3400 most times. Stock STI does about 240hp on this dyno. N.Y.X.
The plan will be upgrading the turbo eventually as I would prefer it to spool up on the early side like the stock VF40 did. More custom grille stuff, ordered new overlays for F/R and steering wheel emblem and ordered a GS MCB on the black friday sale. Also took the dogs out and snapped a couple pics. http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/t503/childreth13/20151128_162808_zpsn5gpwiwz.jpg http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/t503/childreth13/20151128_163657_zpsjnsncjwd.jpg http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/t503/childreth13/20151128_204649_zpsmwxz4wtn.jpg http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/t503/childreth13/20151128_204924_zpssogeahvw.jpg http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/t503/childreth13/IMG_20151128_110111_zpsyntezk7q.jpg http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/t503/childreth13/IMG_20151128_110239_zpsin3lchtz.jpg http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/t503/childreth13/IMG_20151128_111631_zpszgwszpyf.jpg

N.Y.X.
Thanks man!! Just finished the rear brembo install with KNS ebrake pads and adapters. Rhitter
The GS MCB was a "fun" installation. It made a very small but slightly noticeable difference on stock OBXT brakes. Moving to SS lines and LegacyGt rotors / Stoptech pads completed it. How's the pedal feel? My OBXT build
N.Y.X.
Just wow dude, pedal is amazing. Had a chance to drive it yesterday and it is just night and day different. well worth every penny for the added power I have. I broke the stupid clip on the fuel lines for the MCB install. I haven't had the greatest luck with brittle plastic and it was cold, but still was probably too rough with it.
Rhitter
Where did you mount the ballasts for your HIDs? Did you ziptie them in? My OBXT build
N.Y.X.
Hey man!! I mounted the ballast on the pas side with the open threads for grounds on the fender wall. As far as the driver, I need to make a bracket to mount the relays as well as the ballast. But for now, it is just zip tied. On to more preventative maintenance. Trying to find a oil pickup, baffle and sandwich mount for my oil gauges.
