nice engine bay! cant wait to get her back on the dyno and see some early spool and torque! I still think you should have won the show and have advised RMSF they need to employ different standards next year for judging. *IE best engine bay, best daily, etc*

See you soon!

Started on my rear diffuser, adding for appearance purposes. It will likely be built out of aluminum and then powder coated black. The back and sides where it touches the muffler will be adjusted and not be an issue with the end product. I used it to help me hold it in place that way.

Couple things, slipping in 5th, so ready for a new clutch, but also means postponing dynotune:/

Been scouring the interwebs for JDM goodies with the help of magnusonsubie & Kalien32, trying to change the look up a bit and get prepared for a winter re-spray.

In other news, picked up her little sister; 07 XT Limited w/ a 169k. Bad engine, real clean interior, all else is good though, a buddy and I are doing the rebuild.

Got the project obxt to the shop for it's rebuild. Dropping in a new e257 as the short blocks from Subaru are the same price. Thinking about using the bad engine for a builder block as it didn't knock at all under normal driving conditions when I drove it to the shop yesterday, so we'll see.

Clutch components came in, ordered a pitch mount as well.

Sold the '07 to a buddy of mine, he had parts gathered in a day lol. Added stock LGT suspension to his along with nameless muffler deletes.

For mine, I ordered Whiteline KTA124 for when I roll the fenders and go lower, as well as redline goods black/red stitch shift/ebrake boots and elbow rest, scored some STI pedals from the local subie recycler, found a dead pedal and ordered that as well.

In other news I had been following a local post with new raijin's. They didn't fit my brembo's so I just kept an eye on the price for awhile. Long story short I paid my roommate to go pick them up in CO Springs for me as I was busy. Needless to say, Christmas came early.

Hey NYX the obxt looks amazing. Wondering what you did to get the gs tmic to seat properly with the splitter. I saw on another thread there is a gap. Ordering the tmic for my 05 obxt so just planning ahead.

Thanks!

The 05 should be a Legacy GT Wagon, as opposed to an OBXT. And as such, there shouldn't be a gap and should fit as it is supposed to on any Legacy.

the issue with the OBXT is that there is a "lift kit" installed that raises the body with respect to the chasis, and so there is an additional gap caused between the TMIC ("attached" to the engine) and the hood/hood scoop/splitter (attached to the body).

so all in all, as long as you aren't 9" off the ground (OBXT as supplied in USDM market), you should be fine.

What? He said he has an 05 OBXT.... he doesn't have a Legacy GT wagon. Regardless of suspension height, the OBXT engine / drive train is dropped an inch. That leaves a gap.

@skibum0203 I currently just have that gap and haven't bothered figuring out how to close it up. Intercooler works fine right now. It would probably work better with all the air forced through it though, but if you are just DDing you probably won't notice a difference.

i thought OBXTs didn't exist until 06 or 07? before then there was only the Legacy GT wagon, like Gunnars. The Outback still existed, just not as a turbo model.

but i'll admit i'm not certain. model info apart from 08-09 OBXTs is limited at best in my brain.

Sorry to derail NYX's thread, but, off topic

05 is the only year that manual wagons with the turbo engine existed (in the US). OBXT's have a manual and a turbo from 05-09.
