yeah, might be a bit overkill too even though its a nice setup.

Yes, its true NYC he prob cant beat it up, but within 5 hours there are tons of places where that thing could be put away wet and dirty

- Non-Tapered head tube

- Quick release axles

- Crap Avid Elixir brakes

- 2 x 9 drivetrain

- Fox fork from the generation that brutally failed at CTD damping

I wouldn't pay more than $500 for that. It's far past the point of upgrading, and really all of the things mentioned above, for a bike like a Stumpjumper, have vastly been improved upon.

^Have you worked a lot on Enduro SX models? If yes, what is your opinion on overall design, performance, etc...

Those I have not. It's just not the demographic for around here. But, what I will say is I have demo'd a few of them, and they felt very well sorted. I'm a big fan of that suspension design, even though it's a little dated by today's standards, because it just works!

Happy to help! I hate to see someone spend so much money on a bike that's in the weird realm of "really good parts" but also is just outdated to the point where something newer at 2/3 the price, with less nice components, will easily outperform it.

Bought a new bike a few months ago. It's been taking all my spare money and time. The bike company had a Moab camping weekend. Drove 14 hours to bike in Moab for the first time. Scenery out there is insane.

Wow. Almost 2 years now. Bump iiiittt!

I live in Utah now and ride every single week. Still riding 26" bikes :spin:. In the process of finishing rebuilding a Specialized SX Trail II. I did a test ride with that thing, and man, it swallows anything you throw at it! I'll post pics soon.

Current status of my 'build' :spin:

Need to bleed the brakes (first time I ever own hydraulic brakes). These are SRAM which are apparently a pain in the butt to bleed, or should I say complicated to do.

Still need a rear tube

Need new top oring on this 66 fork, as well as oil change

New seat as well. I would like to have one of these adjustable seat post. But man, $$.

So far, installed new raceface platform pedals. Been riding clipless for years. But I now prefer platform.

Also installed Deity grips with matching color.

Converted the drivetrain to the el cheapo Microshift 1x9 Advent series 11-42 because still buying diapers.

Sporting up front is a good ol Kenda Nevegal 2.7. Pretty big but I like it. Rear will be a Maxxis 2.5 DHF Minion. Man, hard to find 26 tires now...

The fork is a 2010 Marzocchi 66 Ti RC3. Rear is the Fox DHX 5.0.

I should take a picture of all my bikes. I bought that green one in my pictures that might or might not work in 2018. Now I have three that I ride regularly, full suspension, hardtail, and gravel/road bike.

My friend decided to take up frame building as a hobby so I get a new frame hardtail or gravel frame every 6 months or so as he figures out his process and improves.

I also got a Ford Transit medium roof aka giant full size van mostly because it makes going biking easier. So winter project is setting it up for weekend / week long trips.

I don't know what year your brakes are but SRAMs aren't bad to bleed. Shimano and Sram are pretty similar. Just sram uses Dot fluid so you have to be a little more aware. But this is a car site and we are all used to that.

I have SRAM RE guide brakes.

I have actually been riding my 2004 Enduro SX for the past..... 13 years . The good ol Fox vanilla R rear coil shock is finally failing after all of this time. Time to upgrade to another older bike ... Been wanting to have an SX trail for so long too.

I am also planning to dedicate one of my hard tails for the bike park. Been doing light dirt jumping with the SX these past few months. Not that great. Too heavy and too much travel.

Should also mention that watching Sam Pilgrim on Youtube is fun and motivating! "Hello everyone, today's gonna be epic!"

I'm still riding a 2011 stumpy carbon evo (frame), oozy wheels and hubs, gx drive train, fox factory rear (custom built for the frame by dirt labs) and revolution duel position front (custom). basically the frame is the only original part(s).

I recently upgraded to a Magura MT5 on a 203mm front and MT4 with a 180 rear and really really like them a lot.

Oh wow. Should post a pic.

Here is my faithful enduro SX at a trail in southern Utah. Can't really see the whole bike, because the view is better :spin:

You may notice the Marz 66 fork fully compressed and locked for climbing. Normal travel is 180mm when unlocked. I LOVE that thing when going down on sketchy stuff.
