scoobydoobie
+1 I thought they already had one. This news changes things. I have a stock 09 sedan with 5EAT Don't get me wrong.. I'm happy with my Cobb/Stromung set up now.. sounds great w/no leaks.. But definitely down for a full 3" TB exhaust into stock cans for stealth factor. Thinking of changing FMIC for ProcessWest TMIC/ducting while I'm at it as well.

I'm happy with the Stromung right now as well, but this project is looking very promising. Plus I'm about to pick up a TurboXS DP. IRT the PW TMIC, I'll have mine installed by December so if you want to check it out let me know and I can drive up.
BAC5.2
I'll bring up the 5EAT downpipe today, you never know! utc_pyro
It's only the rear of the 2-peace downpipe that they'd need to chance for 5eat fitment. Also the OEM downpipe is the same between MT and AT, it's just a mounting bracket on the lower part of the downpipe the differs. Looking at redoing my exhaust, might be interested in both the mid/Y and a new downpipe.
BAC5.2
If that's the case, their current downpipe does not have a bracket and might fit the 5eat. utc_pyro
If that's the case, their current downpipe does not have a bracket and might fit the 5eat. Might is the key word... Many aftermarket MT downpipes follow a path closer to the transmission than stock and the pipe would hit the wider AT. An aftermarket AT pipe would fit any tranny bend wise, but not always vice versa unless the pipe followed the exact OEM path. Just looked at some pictures, and it has no hangers what so ever? Wouldn't that put a lot of mechanical stress on the turbo?
BAC5.2
Not really. The new downpipe does have a bracket, though. I'll ask about making a 5EAT compatible DP. need bb
Bump for update Would be glad to drive my 05 wagon down to MD so you can test with an aftermarket DP (CNT). I have been waiting for a semi-quiet wagon catback for ages...
BAC5.2
The flex/resonated midpipe should be here soon, probably another week or so! Things move at a different pace down under, don't forget. Ill update ASAP. AlexD
Very interested in this. I don't know much about exhaust routing on different cars, but do you have a feel for the prospects of this working for a spec b?
BAC5.2
It'll work on the Spec-B, no problem. GEE-OTTO
I think I missed this but why are you developing with a AUS based company again? Not being negative or anything just pure curious

BAC5.2
Because I'm sick of terrible quality parts on the market (GMS, FMS, etc.) and wanted something better. TXS stuff is among the highest quality you can buy and their US HQ is right down the street from me, so it seemed like a logical step. Rather than just make a single, custom exhaust for my car, I thought it would be worthwhile to bring a high quality alternative to the community. TRSCobra
I'm holding out hope for this exhaust. Any idea of a targeted price?
BAC5.2
Still working out all of the details. Once production is prepared, there will be a better idea of price I'm sure. TRSCobra
Cool. As long as it's not the same volume as every other performance exhaust on the market and isn't $1200+, I doubt they'll have any trouble selling these... Any idea on the muffler design being straight through or baffled?
BAC5.2
Muffler design is top-secret! Mostly because they aren't done yet. They are a ground up design, and they shouldn't be terribly loud. I'm excited about them, to say the least. Especially since there will be an OBXT specific muffler!
