Leke
I ment that if we got the S402 fenders, do we need to change the mud splash or not because the the S402 fenders are wider than the normal fenders. also I was asking about the S402 fenders price. I believe there's a thread around here where Graham says that Subaru doesn't make the S402 fenders available without a VIN number.
edkwon
I believe there's a thread around here where Graham says that Subaru doesn't make the S402 fenders available without a VIN number. That would really put a cramp in this whole S402 conversion thing.
Leke
Not having them really doesn't take away from the final result, so I'm not too bothered.

The S402 front fenders can't be had; ( or the vents ) so can't give you a price the S402 shares the same front Bumper as the STi Legacy; and yes, the S402 Fenders are wider than Stock Maybe some creative panel work on some Stock fenders to widen 'em ( ? ) Best GW
cheeseenlo
I'm gonna revive this thread. Been exhausted looking for more info on the S402 conversion to a USDM 09 LGT. I'm just wondering if Leke ever got around doing this. If not I might be the first to do so, I'll be the guinea pig. From all the threads I've gone through, there seems to be no major issues with the conversion. Theres no need for new fenders, headlights, or hood. So if the paint match is the same for my DGM it would save me some money as well. Right now I'm sourcing a few distributors to find the best deal I can get. I love the look of the S402 bumper! Leke
There are a couple issues actually. Once I figure out how to get my headlights rigged up, I'll explain everything.
Black Dragon
I think you mean the side bracket that hold the bumper to the finders and the front corner bracket. I already did mine but still looking for the finders.
cheeseenlo
Leke..thanks for the feedback. Man. I didn't want to hear that there would be issues with this conversion. I hope things work out for you.

Leke
Underdog, hope the trip was nice. I tried my conversion I couple weeks ago, but then had to stop a put the USDM bumper back on before I could finish . There are also a couple things I need to go back and confirm about the entire process, so hold off on those headlights just for now. I'm also waiting on a couple items from Japanparts, a wiring harness from LightWerkz, and a few 9005 socket plugs to take care of my HID conversion before it's actually done. I did 95% of the conversion already and have a truckload of pictures, so hopefully soon I can show it off and post an epic writeup.
Underdog
Waiting for more details! Should I halt any part purchases for the immediate future, besides waiting on the headlights? In other words... are there issues that will make this vastly more complicated/expensive than I prepared for? The Crimson Dynamo
Leke
I'll be honest and tell you that it has been significantly more expensive than I thought. If I can make sure that I was doing the installation improperly, then no, it should be more expensive. I dont want to really explain it just incase I'm completely wrong. I want to confirm 100% before relaying the information to everyone else so they know what exactly needs to be done.

mrmako
I'd like to see it as well. I kind of like the 3.0R SpecB look, but to go S402, that would be killer.

BigInALegacy
Cars looking good, can't wait to see the progress you guys make! Do all the N/A hoods look like that? With the cowl in the middle? Or is that unique to that market or a different hood? Sorry if that's a dumb question... guess I'm used to seeing a scoop there??
Guest
Looks to be an N/A Outback hood.
Underdog
Big, that is a 3.0R hood here in the states too. A few members with FMICs have made the swap. I think CapeStylz has it too. Any update Leke? The Crimson Dynamo
