planelazy
If you use the stock grill and cut out the inserts how are you filling in the holes left behind that I've seen on some of the DIYs? Oh and FYI I'll be rebadging my trunk next month taking the "SUBARU" and "2.5GT" off so if anyone wants it just PM me.. prolly will sell either for 10 or 20 bucks plus shipping
GP1300R
Where are you guys buying the vinyl to do this? I want to black out my grill but I don't want to paint or take off the chrome. Which is the best to use?

GP1300R
was there any prep work involved? I think I'm going to go that rout. 3m vinyl is too expensive.
t1m0007
I scratched up the chrome and black with some 100 grit but if u might go back to chrome with a peel off i wouldn't touch those parts and it'll coat fine

I dont really notice any wind noise actually...although I might have just gotten used to it, but I also have the radio on whenever i'm in the car so thats just something else to muffle any noise... psu_lgt
care to give some details on how you did this? Looks great. $50 spare grille from 05LGTBLUE. Cut the insides out. The rest of the supplies I found at Home Depot. Gutter Gaurd, cut to fit the inside the grille frame. Weather Stripping taped around the inside and then placed the Gutter Gaurd inside the weather strip. Used 24 gauge wire ties, through some holes drilled under the stripping, to hold it all in place. Tape off chrome. 3 coats of paint. Place badges. Done. Loving the new grille too. Had a lot of compliments that it really brings the car together
Flat4
Hmm I started my DIY grille and put the mesh in the back but I like the flush look of yours much better. Where can I find this weather stripping at home depo? Window section?
psu_lgt
Where can I find this weather stripping at home depo? Window section? Yep. Its like $3 for 15+ feet of the stuff. I used Frost King brand. It was 3/8" wide by 1/4" height
