These are the mods I did to some grilles on my EDM BP5 2.0R. Same front as JDM. (Some pics are crappy. Sorry for that.)

 

eBay JDM mesh grille painted in car color. Grille meant for USDM GT, so no perfect fit.

how is everyone removing the existing chrome on their grills in order to paint them? the chrome on my grill was all bubbled up, so I started trying to strip it, but its really tough to get off...any tips from the veterans?

I didnt...I scuffed it and hit it with Grey self etching primer first.
