I decided why wait and mine is already painted! 4 coats and in another 20 min or so I'll see I'd it's dry enough to install or if I need to wait until tomorrow.

Here are some poor shots of mine... Im gonna have to respray it though because it didnt go on thick enough at the back edges of the grill so it was just rubbing off. Hopefully I can just take it off and touch it up with out having to do it all again. Could also be that I was impacient and didnt wait a full 30 minutes between coats. Also if you taped anything off I would go around it with an razor to score it because the stuff does stretch and peel like rubber

I'm going to attempt the DIY JDM STI grill on my 08 DGM LGT. What do you guys think if I did that, painting the surround body match color, and they honeycomb insert a satin black? I'm also going to open up the headlights, clear the reflector and black them out, maybe body match the horizontal surface

This is a fine thread. While I like to keep my car looking mostly stock, I have seen some good ingenuity, resourcefullnes and imagination in many of these grilles. I have noticed that many are using what appears to be nothing more than gutter mesh. I would like to share an option I found that can possibly take your build to the next level.

It may not be for everyone but it is different and can set you apart. It is powder coated mesh used for industrial P.A. speakers.

Tildowns, looks legit! The Body-matched rim is a clean look.

Just did mine today. I only did the inner wings, and i like the subtle change. I just cant decide if I want to do the entire grill black too. What do you guys think.

Also, after doing this, it just makes me want to black out the headlights even more, but im scared sh*tless to crack the headlights open.
