MGV101 Posted March 7, 2008 Share Posted March 7, 2008 not much clue from me. i think Hong kong doesn't need the blinkers...i hope MGV can chime into this. hong kong might not have HIDs later on cause some are annoyed that they are always shining into the eyes of the driver on the other lane or rather, they should just set a law telling people to get their headlights checked...dumb. Nope, we don't have those blinkers nor washers or self leveling headlights. Our legacy sold here are essentially JDM... at least for the 07 and 08MY. Before that, we had the European version of the 2.5i for awhile for 06 but not anymore. About those HID issues in HK. I doubt they will ever prohibit it due to the sheer amount of cars equipped with them already. The only HIDs which are really causing the problems are those cars with HID conversions where the housing is not designed for HID use causing a huge amount of light scatter and also those who did not level their headlights properly after fitting on HIDs. I took them off, pulled apart, and painted the inside housings. I also took out the little ribbed corner things and blacked out the orange. Maryland's Suby friendly Realtor. Ok...let me throw a little spanner in the works here....Although Hong Kong is a short 1 hour flight across The Strait from here.....(and we are closer to Japan), we don't get JDM models of Subaru's, but rather EDM....... ......and my 08 Legacy 2.0R came with HIDs, washers, and since I don't have an adjustment knob, they are self levelling.... Koji refers to a guy on Nasioc that did the first pair of bugeye headlights. It is a very easy process, just nerve racking and time consuming. You basically take out the headlights, bake them in the oven, pull apart, spray paint, reassemble, bake, and viola! Everything that is chrome inside a stock headlight is painted black. Many people like to leave the chrome ring inside the headlight...i prefer all black. Maryland's Suby friendly Realtor. They look different from other lights I've seen blacked out... I dunno if it's the QSM or if it's b/c it's a 2008... they almost look like the glass is tinted in those pics. Very VERY nice... that may be my next mod! More pics when you get a chance. Oh... if you have any with the headlights blacked out but the grill still chrome I'd LOVE to see those too... just wondering how that looked.
