I keep a spreadsheet to reference:

Azeni Tires (summer) 486.84

Michelin Tires (winter) 585.24

OZ rims + TPMS 1262.82

AVO TMIC 500

Cobb Catted DP + Heatshield 450

AVO Filter 58.5

STI Pink Springs 400

Bilstein Conversion 776.49

STI Shift Kit 220

AccessPort 695

Total 5434.89

I think I'm done modding at this point. I could see endlinks and sways possibly down the road, but car is close to perfect as is for me.

Sold the RE92's, but kept all the stock parts. When the day comes to sell the car, if it doesn't sell at a price I want w/ the mods to a private party, I'll revert to stock and trade it in and sell the mods individually. Some things like the DP and TMIC I bought used, so I figure I can get a lot of that back. Others that I bought new, I generally assume I can get 30-50% back down the road.

which is what I'm in the process of doing. If I can get 50% of what I paid, then I'm doing well, otherwise, it's closer to that 30% after I include shipping and Paypal fees, time it takes to bring her back to stock, etc.

I started to calculate how much I've spent on the new car already:

tint $200

Clear Bra $1000

Parrot BT $335 installed

Rear cargo liner $50

All weather mats $50

Cargo tray $40

Mudflaps $80

STI heater seat switch $70

STI drivers side heated seat elements $270 (to be installed by myself once I find the wire harness hidden inside the car)

Tune w/ Jarrad $150

Cost to bring Jarrad $90

Cobb AP $625

Front Lip and vent visors from japanparts.com $778

eh... ya..... :(

I should add that the $7900 doesn't include anything sold yet. Should be getting at least $1500 for the piles of stuff I have in the basement:

APV1 with protune map, Crucial UP/shorty DP, OEM struts and springs, OEM intercooler, OEM UP and midpipe, OEM turbo, OEM injectors, OEM TGVs, blahblahblah

Still, some gearheads would say $6500 would get you a sweet sorted-out weekend car for racing, or a brand new great motorcycle like the SV650.

For me, having a car that I can drive down a dirt access road to a kayak race and blend in with the ton of Subarus at the race on Saturday, and then go to the dragstrip and rip of a 12 second timeslip on Sunday (if the blob behind the wheel is up to it, hehe) is sweet, and well worth $6500 for the coolness factor of it.

Another example would be giving a great-aunt a ride to the supermarket and have her not notice any of the mods, but then place in a rallycross in the AWD modified class the next day.

Or if you want it in photo format:

Do this Saturday

And this on Sunday

When I give the above examples to somebody when they question why I spent so much on a wagon, most of them get it.

In my ideal world: Not Enough

In my, and my wife's, real world: Too Much

Agree entirely. Now I'm resorting to having my parts shipped to a buddy's house since I did go a little wild in the year or so I've had the car.

AVO420

AVO CAI

AVO turbo inlet

GroupA Crank, PS, Alt pulleys

DBA 4000 Rotors

Hawk HPS pads

Goodridge SS lines

GFB BOV

STRI Boost Guage

Grimmspeed Coated UP

Cobb catted DP

Autospeed CBE

Perrin TMIC

HID Kit (hi/low/fog)

All weather mats

Tint

Winter wheels and rubber

Wallbro fuel pump

Deatchwerks 750cc Injectors

Cobb AP

Kartboy STS

Kartboy front and rear bushings

Lathewerks STi sphere shift knob

JDM Aero spats

Don't really want to add it up and certainly haven't kept a spreadsheed around but figure I'm in for about $8,500 to this point.

Coming soon

Finalizing install of turbo and pro tune

BC Racing coilovers

Summer wheels

Then I'm done ............

I had to have everything shipped to my work office or business. ;) But when I left and had to bring everything I had bought home with me.... there were many many questions of "where'd that come from?" or "when did you get that?" or comments "i see you got new rims" or "is that a ...... for the car?" etc.

Still haven;t had to deal with that since many of the goodies aren't visually noticeable. But I do have to sneak the goodies after returning from work and find hiding places until they get installed.:eek:
