Underdog
I echo beanboy's statement: For the 24k of the car + the 6k I've put into it, I don't think there has been another car out there that would be as well-rounded or appealing. Once the warranty is up (yea yea, what's a warranty ) the power mods will grow that value even further. The Crimson Dynamo
rudy
I keep a spreadsheet to reference: Azeni Tires (summer) 486.84 Michelin Tires (winter) 585.24 OZ rims + TPMS 1262.82 AVO TMIC 500 Cobb Catted DP + Heatshield 450 AVO Filter 58.5 STI Pink Springs 400 Bilstein Conversion 776.49 STI Shift Kit 220 AccessPort 695 Total 5434.89 I think I'm done modding at this point. I could see endlinks and sways possibly down the road, but car is close to perfect as is for me. Sold the RE92's, but kept all the stock parts. When the day comes to sell the car, if it doesn't sell at a price I want w/ the mods to a private party, I'll revert to stock and trade it in and sell the mods individually. Some things like the DP and TMIC I bought used, so I figure I can get a lot of that back. Others that I bought new, I generally assume I can get 30-50% back down the road. Beanboy
I should add that the $7900 doesn't include anything sold yet. Should be getting at least $1500 for the piles of stuff I have in the basement: APV1 with protune map, Crucial UP/shorty DP, OEM struts and springs, OEM intercooler, OEM UP and midpipe, OEM turbo, OEM injectors, OEM TGVs, blahblahblah Still, some gearheads would say $6500 would get you a sweet sorted-out weekend car for racing, or a brand new great motorcycle like the SV650. For me, having a car that I can drive down a dirt access road to a kayak race and blend in with the ton of Subarus at the race on Saturday, and then go to the dragstrip and rip of a 12 second timeslip on Sunday (if the blob behind the wheel is up to it, hehe) is sweet, and well worth $6500 for the coolness factor of it. Another example would be giving a great-aunt a ride to the supermarket and have her not notice any of the mods, but then place in a rallycross in the AWD modified class the next day. Or if you want it in photo format: Do this Saturday http://www.stinkyteapot.com/fastbed.jpg And this on Sunday http://www.stinkyteapot.com/Untitled-12.jpg When I give the above examples to somebody when they question why I spent so much on a wagon, most of them get it. -B http://www.standardshift.com

But I do have to sneak the goodies after returning from work and find hiding places until they get installed.
