Powerman
That thing is going to be tiny. I drove a 335 yesterday and it is small as well. It is the same size as a WRX. It is a coupe with smaller truck and comes up 4 in. shorter than a WRX. Hieght and width are the same. From auto shows and first rides, 6 footers can fit in the back seats, but I wouldn't want to be one of them. Like any other 2+2 coupe. 3373 for the manual from the CORRECTED BMW brochure. Now that isn't light for a RWD, but it isn't a porker. An R32 is 3550 lbs. So $35K base, 50/50 distribution, 6 sp manual, with sport suspension, 6 pot Brembos up front, 300hp/300tq 3.0 liter 6 with no lag and full torque at 1700, add another $800 for a AA chip and 360hp/380tq, and $1200 for the sport package. I'm in. If you think a 335i is tiny, then OK. Most everyone that has been in a 135i says the front seats have as much room as a 335i. I don't see it being any different than my LGT. To me, a Mini and a Golf are tiny.
Powerman
Here is the corrected U.S. brochure. http://content.bmwusa.com/microsite/1series2008/assets/pdf/2008_1series_coupe_catalogue.pdf Official pricing is rumored to be released at the L.A. auto show debut Nov. 15th
Guest heightsgtltd
It is also way less attractive than the 1 hatch that you can get in EU

I realize that the 135i was the King of Cars until the GT-R was anounced but that doesn't make it any larger. Comparing anything to an R32 doesn't make the car look better Rob IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CAR YOU SHOULD NEVER DRIVE IT

I should go spend more time in the 335i to see what they mean I realize that the 135i was the King of Cars until the GT-R was anounced but that doesn't make it any larger. camber
Rear seats are useless. You could fit a 6ft person in the rear seat but then no one can sit in front seat! Top Gear had a review on the 1 series that illustrated the smallness of the back seat. The rear seat is really better suited as a parcel shelf. I just hope that BMW can get rid of the bugs out of the drivetrain and that the new car doesn't introduce more interesting issues.

I haven't had any one in the back of my Cherokee in probably 3 years. We are not getting rid of the LGT. When I asked the wife what she thought about a coupe, she said "You don't have kids, what the hell do you care?" I love her. I'm not real concerned about the back seats. There isn't any back seats in a coupe I would want to spend any time in unless it was just me. I definitely want a striped down 6 spd 135i. camber
Ok... that's my point.... You have to treat this car as a two seater with similar performance to a 335 but cheaper.

I'm 6 ft., but I don't want to spend too much time in the back seat of a coupe. Useless is a bit strong. I would much rather catch a ride in the back of a coupe instead of the truck of a roadster. That is exactly how I am treating it. Except it will have better performance than the 335i. Suspension and brakes.
1-3-2-4
lol the front of the car always looks like someone punched it in the face.
camber
We'll see if the it performs better. The weight is pretty similar to the 335 but it has a shorter wheel base. With the shorter wheel base it should turn in pretty well. For rear seat passengers that aren't children, the rear seat is useless. Heck kids will have a tight fit back there. So f-ing what? I wouldn't buy that car as a family car anyway. It's a coupe, meant to carry two people with room for two more only if absolutely necessary, like any other coupe. I was just simply stating this car is basically a two seater but someone kept inferring that the back seats were usable for adults.

No coupe I know of has useful back seats. To be useful the seats need easy access in my book, no coupe offers this. Back seat for emergency use only in my book.
