Update: June 21, 2007

Damn, this was a hard decision. I decided to take a brief job in Wolfeboro, NH till Aug 12 at a summer school, which is going to make me a good amount of money for the project. The only problem is, obviously I cant take either car with me, so there will be no real work done until the 12th on the cars.

I will probably send the '96 to the body shop over that time, so it will be ready when I get home and I'll be ordering parts, so it wont be a total loss of time. In my free time I'll be doing the wiring diagrams for the ECU, which will take forever, but will be fun and needs to be done before the engine and transmission goes in, so I promise I'll be productive.

Whenever I get parts in, I'll post pics and I'll give everyone updates if the car goes in for work, or on the wiring, but damnnit, the project will be postponed for a bit (that was the only reason I hesitated on the job, which I got the offer for at noon and had to have a decision in by 5)...

203kW @ wheels in 3rd gear

198kW @ wheels in 4th

You also need an STi close-ratio 6spd with DCCD, Brembos and a full R180 rear-end ;)

Hmmm alot of those parts on the undercarriage look familiar ;););) and the STi 6spd w/ DCCD sound familiar....

Those numbers seem about right, if not a little low for what I'm planning

Trust me, I'm doing this baby right, so its gonna take some time, but its gonna make a lot of people drool when its done

Thats what I'm shooting for, 400/400 and hopefully under 3,000 lbs, this baby is going on a serious diet

how much is something like that to build? And is it street legal? Wasn't this powerplant in the U.S. for a few years?

Didn't cost him much at all, as he had the engine in an old beater lying around, and he did all the work himself.

The car is legally registered, and as long as it passes emisions testing, it's good to go.
