Sweet! Where'd you source out the strip LEDs?

Just finished clearing my headlights but also put my led's inside the headlights too. Hope you guys like it.

Those look good, and the price is great. How does the quality compare to the original headlights? Did you install them yet?

I actually got a set of EBAY for an extra to do this to. I did this mod probably 5 months ago and everything works like a dream. I have an 6k KID kit that I've been running for about 4 months and its a perfect set up.

The only difference that I found was that the OEM set used 5 torq screws (I think) and the set of EBAY had phillips screws instead of torq screws.

I can did up the seller if anyone is interested, but I believe they were right around the same price, maybe a little cheaper than $250

Here's some older pictures, but still looks the same

looks great man, i decided not to paint mine this time around (the 05s are already partially black anyway), but i like your look alot. What did you use to paint? could u post a couple more pics, (close up, head on) to really get a good look at the lights?

+1

I painted with first (quite thin) layer of Plastidip for adhesion, and than many layers of flat black Krylon Fusion for plastics. It created quite durable finish (I first painted invisible spot on the top to test adhesion). No sanding necessary.

I'll try to come up with more pictures.

What do you use to keep your lights so clean???

I use a bug and tar remover that I get from the Harley shop. I try to clean the car when I get a chance. That stuff cleans almost anything.

If you looked at my bike, you'd think it's brand new because of the cleaner. I clean that after almost every ride. The car is A LOT tougher to keep clean

Damn! That's clean!!!

Give us a pic of the cleaner, or the brand/make. :)

thinkin about a blackout/hid/led project myself.

was very weary of aftermarket headlights tho.

i'm actually considering buying a repaired one from a salvage yard for $100.. just one.. and experimenting on it.. but I dunno yet.

I want to use high quality components, hid clear lense projectors, proper branded oem brand/color hid systems (none of this kit crap that I've ued in the past.) and have an oem quality light output.

I dont want to black out the ring, just the reflective side of the 05 headlight.

as for LEDs..well I dunno yet.

I think I'm just gonna pass. I cant find the time to go up to acworth to look at this thing and its $100 for a single headlight.. not to mention the clear lense projector I'd have to source.. I dont have the money for this right now. :(

I'm really surprised at how easy this was. 280 for 8 mins FTW.

Bumper drop was the worst part and even that was pretty easy. ;)

I went back and forth for soooo long on this, i'm glad i got it done this past weekend. Since I had the bumper off decided to put on my lip too. I'll post pics when I get home tonight.

you're missing the last 2.

It is fairly easy tho.

I WOULD be doing it again soon had it not been for someone with more time to sit around on forums than me.

and thats saying a lot considering how much time I have to sit around and forum.

Car was just in an accident and it barely hit the headlight.... the very edge is chipped a bit and a couple small scratches. I can post pics if anyone wants it. Let me know and I will come up with a price shipped. Good practice headlight maybe? For all you people who are afraid of doing this.... you could always practice on mine. Open it up and close it a thousand times before you go for it your own.
