I noticed that whenever I wash my LGT on a nice beautiful day, the next morning I wake up and it's pouring rain. Then after I'm pissed saying I just wasted all my time washing her the day before, I tell myself why wash her again today? It's just gonna rain again tomorrow according to the weather. And guess what, it will stay nice and bright out for the next 5 days or until I wash her up again...Anyone else run into this?

Now don't be silly Truman. Why don't you have a nice ice cold Pepsi Truman. [/Truman Show]

Something I realized... having the fuel filler on the passenger side is relatively unusual for cars in general in the US... Makes it easier for the woman to fill the tank...

Anyone notice that random street cats are attracted to the Garnet Red? I swear I have cat paw prints all over my car (hood, ceiling, windows, trunk) every morning when I wake up.

Probably isn't color.. my cat is attracted to my DGM and I get prints all over too

ok.. that's probably more of malfunction then "random thing i noticed", but i did just noticed it and it seemed pretty random to me, because.. it's just weird:

- When I turn on my right turning signals while car lights are on, it flashes.. how to put it.. negatively.. Let me try to explain it this way: if normal turning signal is "blink-blink-blink-blink", mine has pauses instead of light and light instead of pauses. But when i turn off lights, then blinking becomes much faster and my cd player dimms every time it blinks.. Left signal light is just normal blinking regardless of whether my headlights are on or off... I didn't noticed these things when I was buying the car.., and seller lives pretty far to go bitch at him about that. So it is my problem now I guess. Anyone encountered anything like that?

I was at an amusement park once and on a ferris wheel and i tried my key fob and was surprised to see it light up from over two football fields away. Granted I was high up, but still thats crazy far. Everyone of my friends is always amazed at how far away my keyless entry works. I always tell them its just one amazing feature of the great cars Subaru makes lol.

You most likely have a grounding error or a bad contact somewhere. Check fuses and grounding points for oxidation and bad contact. Take help from a friend and look at the tail lights first and try various combinations of brake applied/not applied, reverse engaged/not engaged, position lights on/off etc. when activating the turn indicator in both directions. If the tail lights looks weird in some way like one of the right side bulbs has some indication while blinking left (or the other way around) you have a grounding error in the tail lights. If not the problem is likely to be in the front.

I have seen many cases where it really looks weird when people are indicating right/left and in some cases the left indicator flashes when you indicate right. So it's really worth to take a deep look into that before you are pulled over for inconsistent driving or whatever.

Navigation owners..

The auto setting for day/night display doesn't work if you have the dimmer set to the highest position. With the dimmer set to the highest position, the nav will always use the day setting for the display.

That may be true in the US, but my JDM car keeps the Navi at the night setting regardless of the illumination setting.

Speaking of the navi, mine has a different picture of a woman on there and it changes depending on the time of day. Early morning has a woman in shorts, tank top, brushing her teeth. mid morning and afternoon has her in professional work attire (business suit). At night, she wears a nice dress, then late at night, it's a cocktail dress.

I'll try and remember to take pictures. It's funny.

How do you explain that to your wife? :p

How is this thread still going? Lol

Another cool thing is when your car is off. Push the trip reset button in without the key in the car. Your fuel level lights up as well as current trip/odo readings. pretty nifty trick i only learned a few ,months ago.

I have a 2007 so this might be a 07/08/09 thing.

<sigh>... not the button on the instrument cluster... I know that one shows mileage and gas gauge... I'm talking about the button on the trip computer that I would normally press to flip through my MPG, Avg MPG, Miles to Empty, etc while driving the car. The button (at least on my car) is labeled "DISP". The clock stays on for a little while after I turn off the engine, but later it turns off. The DISP button turns on the clock display for a short time without the need to turn on the ignition.

When you pull the E brake while driving, theres an awesome little graphic that pops up in the mile-age-o-meter (thats a technical term) display showing that you ebrake is pulled at least a little but, its a funny graphic.

Got the little graphic when starting the car in 1st down a hill. Parking brake was not on, the graphic came up before letting the clutch out. So maybe this also comes up if you're car is rolling down a hill or moving slowly while not in gear.

This also makes me wonder and I ask "Is it bad to do this on an AWD car?" I've done it numerous times on all my manual cars.
