MarkV
hahaha...that actually sounded pretty good. I definately think we need a drive-by though. What kind of accent is that? It's like Korean/New York or something?? Load that bitch up with washers, it's not going to hurt a thing! Once again I love the friggin enthusiasm, after I get my breaks done and I got time I'm definitly gonna fix it up for good, ill even have my old man take a video of me disassembling and assembling the whole thing, WoW I'm kindof really excited to do this, and the next video should be very good, so like I said, Don't get anxious yet, expect it by tuesday to be complete ( By the way, I'm albanian, alhough I just got back from a study trip from china, don't know how much chinese accent stuck on me but hey, if it sounds good, it sounds good, lol) I've Crashed My ROFLChopper into a LOLCanOhttp://legacygt.com/forums/image.php?type=sigpic&userid=16939&dateline=1230531251

It can be opened or closed from inside the car. When closed the exhaust goes through all the pipes and out the mufflers like it normally would to keep things quiet. When it's opened up the exhaust can exit right after the DP.

MikeAldea
What I like about this thread is the honesty. No one is claiming to be a Life Saver (Loud pipes save lives) like the bikers do. Everyone is doing it because they enjoy the sound of their engine. Now the only question is, will there be a backlash against Subaru GT & WRXs the way there is against motorcycles for straight pipes? MarkV
well no disrespect, but for those of you who cant afford that treatment, i got you one better!!!!!!!!!! new upgraded midpipe disconnect project!!!!!!! All You need is a Spring(not sure what size, if ur hardware store is like mine, the spring is called m54($.90), 6-10 washers-5/8 ($.04), - I used 1 spring, and 12 washers, and it all costed me $1.49, and literally 1 hour of my time you should cut the spring into thirds!!!! thats how it works best and you should use 4 washers, 5 seems okay..., and u dont have to remove the gasket, cuz its melted on there, unless you want to strip it off, and by a new one for future use [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FiRSC2Skg4Y]YouTube - New Midpipe Project[/ame] Edited August 18, 2008 by MarkV I've Crashed My ROFLChopper into a LOLCanOhttp://legacygt.com/forums/image.php?type=sigpic&userid=16939&dateline=1230531251

pheonix991
Anyone tried washers between as picted below on a 2.5NA? cat-resonator-resonator-washer--------muffler Also, what has gone wrong for you guys after doing this mod?
MarkV
I have to say that my car has felt fine with the washers at the muffler, some say it increased there mpg, and so far i've been breaking necks of the civilians when I pop it into gear and go with this new mod... as a little side note, with this mod, you will mostly here the rumble when you start the car and rev it a few times, once the cars been warmed up you get a small sense of it, but the second you pop it into forward gear(literally, go in reverse and then quickly pop it into 1st, after stopping) and you will get an instant sound of the beast inside your car. I have to say, all the cute and sexy girls that drive mercedes benz's, and audi's all love it!!!!
