TRSCobra
I just did the hogzaust again on my LGT; and with the resonator removed, it sounds AWESOME! Â I really need to save up for a real exhaust, though.
MarkV
how come, build one your self, its quite easy, needs fixing to the original catback every 2 years or so unless you know some good inspection office I've Crashed My ROFLChopper into a LOLCanOhttp://legacygt.com/forums/image.php?type=sigpic&userid=16939&dateline=1230531251
TRSCobra
In WA, car's don't rust out very quickly (there are 70's and 80's japanese vehicles EVERYWHERE!) And there is no inspection. I thought about "building" my own, but I'd rather have the marginal power gains that a well designed/engineered/tested exhaust system offers. And $1000 is like a drop in the bucket. TRSCobra
They have emissions inspections here I believe, but I know nothing else about it. Since they don't salt the roads, there's no real corrosion hazard to warrant strict safety inspections every year. Every other car is driving with a cracked windshield, though! scubydu
Wow, who thought eight little washers could start such a revolution:spin: Anyone try this on a BE yet? N/A and single exhaust, but should work right? Maybe this has been discussed, but I only read about 60% of the posts. Had other things to do... like sleep. Strabismo
After more than a year of silence, I've decided to put back my own variation of hogzaust for a little while and I quickly realized that I was really missing that sound. It sounds so much better than the other hogzaust "systems" IMO. It is basically two thick metal plates that I've cut into the same shape as the gasket and cut away half of it.  Yeah I know it's ghetto but I don't want to pay a fortune for some stupid loud exhaust that looks like a stovepipe. scubydu
OK, done. It officially sounds great on a BE. I tried stage one first but it sounded kind of tinny, kind of like... dare I say.. AN EXHAUST LEAK!!! Two washers is perfect, quiet in the car, nice and throaty but not obnoxious outside. I did break one bolt and strip the other (they are 8 yrs old) so I just replaced them with all new SS hardware. LOVE my new sound... and for free! (extra bolts lying around at work) Thanks Hog! hogmeat
10-20 with a downpipe and FULL catback. A catback will cost 500-900 and net you +5. A downpipe + full catback give you good gains, but costs $1000-1500. I am all about cheap powar. Gutted downpipe, uppipe, hogzaust and an Accessport. Stage 2 for $600.99. Not bad! I'm pleasantly surprised... It was most certainly worth the couple bucks and 10 mins of my time. CLICK HERE FOR THE HOGZAUST

Not bad!  yeah im doing sti UP gutted DP, AP & when i get the cash ill be getting a Greddy EVOII but i dont mind my ghetto leak for now. will have had it for a year by christmas when i will start making some money to put that catback on... and yes your right if you dont have a great desire for shooters on the back & just want a little rumble then a catback wont do much good till you get a lot more mods done & actually need more flow... Strabismo
Heck I'm resisting the temptation to go any further than a COB AP reflash and a jdm rear sway bar. Â No stage 2 until the warranty is over. And that's if I don't change for a 135i before that.
MikeAldea
I first went to Walmart and they didn't have the size. Then to Advance Auto and they didn't have the size in stainless steel. So the closet next stop was Lowes, where I thought $6 for a bag of 20 was alot, but I didn't want to drive to Home Depot and they not have it either. Â So what is the correct size stainless washer I need to buy? What are you going to do with all those left over washers?
