I think the tips look a bit too small - slightly bigger tips would probably make it look more appealing. I think most people here would like quad tipped exhaust (OO_________OO) - but so far they're either too big, too small, or too damn expensive.

v.2 DOES have bigger tips. Didnt you read the whole thread?:icon_bigg

and oh yeah...please sir..may i have some more?..pics.

Well, I'm actually at Megan Racing right now, waiting on the work area to be cleared. The bellmouth on the downpipe is a formed bellmouth. It exposes the entire back of the turbo like the Cobb DP, but is a bit smaller in size overall. As I mentioned before, it has a flat flange. I'm guessing a street price of less than $800 for the whole TBE.

Did you get to see what the exhaust looks like yet?

Sorry for the delay guys... had a pesky thing called work to go to after my morning at Megan Racing ;) Suffice to say that V2 is BEAUTIFUL! All the fitment issues have been resolved. Fits like a glove. The factory made the tips 2.25", but I honestly think it looks perfect right now. Very classy, just like the last gen M5. The muffler internals still need to be revised to quiet it down a bit, and they might raise the mufflers up .5", but what you see is what you will get. Speaking of which, I should have a bunch of pics up in the next couple hours when I get home.

We discussed pricing, and MR is going to try hard to keep to the roughly $600 target street price. It is really going to depend on the final production costs. If the factory gives good news it should stay right about there, if it's bad news the final street price might sneak up $50-75. Still definately below $700, that much I can say for sure.

Their attempt at a downpipe was less sucessful, but I'll had some ideas for them on that end and we'll see how it works out over the next couple weeks.

I like it :) Just wished it was higher. Also, is the exhaust slanted slightly or is that an optical illusion of the angle?

Oh.. sign me up ;)

Tucked in the cut out would be nice... you could probably lift them up using the exhaust hanger method Mblock did...

also, this is probably not possible.. but... to perhaps make the tips go up some to be closer to the bumper, it would be cool to keep them in the same angle in relation to the floor and car.. but tilt the muffler a little by lifting the rear. This would allow the muffler to: 1. Tuck in better. 2. Follow the lines of the car better.

Regarding the tips being higher. That is the only change that will be made on the production units. The tips will sit 1/2" higher than the pics of the prototype on my car. The mufflers are level and straight.
