You will not be seeing 11's or for that matter low 12's until temps start to fall back down.

Last friday our temps were 97* with 89% humidity.....felt like I was driving a N/A:(

Probably 13.4-13.7. Really depending on the launch, but most likely mid 13's. WHat are your mods Full turbo back exhaust and protune?

How is this possible??

MT/R&T editors got a stock Spec.B to do 13.7s! Look. I know those mags are often off but not by much. I imagine a "Stage II" MT can likely hit low 13s normally, and high 12s with a "great driver" in cool weather, no?

Heat KILL'S our cars:(

On a 50* day he would have been about a half second faster.

Yep!!

My best times have been when it's 52-55 degrees, but I have noticed a DEFINITE performance increase when it gets into the 40s. Apart from the Drag day I set up in October, I'll have to run out there some Saturday when the temps are under 50 (the strip stays open until December 15th).

stock suspension also:icon_cool . & thanks guys!!!

the heat really kept the timing back....... i could feel it. sure part of it is the snail, but, 4th gear is much stronger then it showed on sunday. i really feel this is a solid low 13sec car with a good launch & cooler temps

My question is probably off-topic, and needs it's own thread, but (other than maybe weight reduction), what benefit do headers have on a turbo engine??

Going back in my 35+ years of modding cars, headers are most effective when they are the proper pipe diameter, pipe length, and collector size to work with a particular combination. I have issues seeing how headers can be properly set up with a turbo at the end. Unless, maybe, for a full-out 400+ WHP stage "X" car that needs the extra flow capacity from the engine.

As far as I know, not one person yet on the stock turbo, mods, and a tune, running pump gas has gotten into the 12's.. And like yall said, with warm temps and high humidity, I dont think its gonna happen.. This is my goal though, so I am trying as all get out to do it.. EDIT - could be wrong.. correct me if i am

What's the difference between slapping headers on a turbo car or ZZ572 Big-Block? I say little to none in terms of overall effect. Don't flame me 'cause you probably know this but, an engine is essentially a pump. The faster you can get air/fuel in, burned, and exhaust out, the more power you make - simplistically. Most well designed aftermarket headers trounce factory (mostly cast) manifolds in terms of airflow. More airflow > better efficiency > faster spooling > potentially more boost > more power. Same goes for intakes, better burning/flowing heads, pistons and so on.

I'm not so sure about that unless these folks are flat-out lying. Take a look here:

<-- been in the 12's for a while now; still have the stocker vf40. There are a few of us in the high 12's with the stock vf... but it really is about as far as one can go.
