tigger73
Running 17x8 55mm offset WRX wheels.. tire size recommendations? Pretty new to this so any advice would be great. Check the first post for all the compatible tire sizes. Given that the stock rims are only 0.5" narrower you can use stock tires (225/55R17) with no problems. You could fit something a little wider like 235/50R17 or 235/55R17. Both of these are still OK but will introduce a little bit of speedo error. Widest tire you can fit on a 8" rim is 245 so 245/50R17 would also work and is actually closest to stock size. At the end of the day it may come down to what tires you can get a good deal on. Some sizes are more common than others and you'll generally find these are more competitively priced. Tigger73's MY15 2.5i build

tigger73
yes, those I guess they are 10 spoke with the little black spokes hiding ... Not sure if they have a name yet but they're the Impreza Sport wheel. Here's a close-up showing a bit more detail: http://pictures.dealer.com/p/planetsubarusne/1322/6fcab291a99c778ae667c6f2286de51cx.jpg I originally thought they were a variation on the Legacy Limited wheel but the dark spokes are quite different in design. surmiser
I'm using wheel specs that aren't in the consolidated tables on Pg.1 of this thread, so I thought I'd share. Swapped out my stock 18" cast wheels for used Prodrive GC-010E (http://www.prodrive-japan.com/en/products/gc_010e_forged) 18 x 8 ET43 forged wheels, which are a discontinued model. Weighed in at 8.2kg (18.1 pounds) vs 11.3kg (24.9 pounds) stock. They had lots of kerb rash and gold wheels aren't my thing, so I had a shop repair them and respray them gloss black. Before respray: http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161101/4c8581fed66d629e1e1f8214954f0204.jpg After respray: http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161101/b4073d1e7857f66ceff0f94006c9ae65.jpg Reused my stock 225/50R18 Dunlop Sport Maxx 050 tyres because I like the comfort and the way they fill up the wheel arches without making me splurge on bigger wheels: http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161101/c3958f65c6ae0ebb63d90eba1c9c658c.jpg http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161101/37dd37158651254c51813f2b00eb522d.jpg They poke 18.6mm more than stock - enough to look a bit more flush, while still giving me space within the arches to lower the car without worrying about the rubbing I was getting in the rear, back when I was using 25mm spacers with the stock wheels: http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161101/492835b9d5f02f180c719de7588320be.png As you can see, plenty of clearance for my AP Racing front calipers: http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161101/64f7799c750ebf88cdf5ed23f2bea024.jpg Rears are of course fine too: http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20161101/0802f17fdadbba83bab4f1b9b9b6600a.jpg @redvenetian on Instagram
Rattsl
20"s look best on these imo. 2nd and 3rd gen Legacys/Libertys were maxed with 17's and looked well and proportionate. 4th gens look great and perform well on 18's. 5th gens are best with 19's, and 6th gen is even bigger than the 5th, so 20's will do. Just make sure you have the right offset and width. That is key!!! Use willtheyfit.com for reference when buying wheels.

Maheshbabukolla
I had a question about the Tire chains tried searching the Forums but there is nothing related to 6th Gen. Planning to visit Mount Rainier, they have chain law from Nov 1st. what would be the good options for this, have gone though the owners Manual. I am not planning to install new tires. They are all stock and want to have the cable Chains for safety. This is my 1st time visit to the Park and bit worried on the conditions over there. Just get a set of Snow Tires No Chains on a Subaru.. It will play hell with the center diff.. With a Good set of Snow Tires you can almost go any where.. and can drive a bit faster than a chained car..[emoji120] Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
