doccrowley
Hey Joel, are you a King-pin in the Nissan/Infinity crowd yet? I heard you can talk to Keith about a "tune" for that baby. Or ClimberD here for a 5eat shift kit.
alaskajoel
5eat? ha! I'm a baller. 7AT FTW:lol:Â True story: it's an awesome car, but I am missing the third pedal badly.

keithk831
Hey Joel, are you a King-pin in the Nissan/Infinity crowd yet? I heard you can talk to Keith about a "tune" for that baby. Or ClimberD here for a 5eat shift kit. Â He could do a tune and it does help a little. But certainly not like a tune on a Subaru engine where you can get 20+ HP for cheap. Â No "cheap" power adders for these cars, unfortunately. Â Nice to see things are rolling smoothly in this forum!
optyks
Serious question here : At what compression starts to be too low for our cars? Also, happens when it block gets to that level? New block? I'm currently at 118 and don't want to be in the market for a new engine anytime soon
McDowell Performance Tunin
All cylinders are around that area? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2 www.facebook.com/mcdowelltuning [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Click Here for Stage1, Stage2 and Stage3 Tuning and eTuning Info
optyks
Cylinder 1 (I think? The one closest to me on the drivers side) is at 115.
S402
120 is about usual for a subaru and you want to be within 5% from lowest to highest so if you were all 120 and one with 118 its nothing to worry about.
optyks
So what happens when it gets too low? New engine outright, or just replace like pistons? I don't know a lot about mechanics haha
S402
Depends you would tear it apart to see why it lost compression. Most of the time its bad rings on the pistons and you can reuse the block. The only real lime you need a new block is when you put a rod out of the block. Either way a bare block isnt that expensive, compared to the heads.
optyks
Hrm. Well, I guess i'll check compression next year after running stage 2 for awhile and see what's going down in there.
S402
115 isn't bad for 7+ year old Subaru.
optyks
Yeah she seems to be holding up pretty well. If only my paint and body was in better condition...

BlckLgt
Yeah she seems to be holding up pretty well. If only my paint and body was in better condition... Unique body does great body work and is the cheapest around. I've already used them twice.

BlckLgt
Doesn't hurt to go get an estimate. They're pretty quick about it. It was the fifth place I went for one, and by far the lowest. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/09/25/a4e4ury3.jpg http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/09/25/gedyhy3u.jpg
Hops
My pops owns a body shop, too. Â Sometimes a buffer and some polish can take care of a lot of blemishes, too. Buy my cars!
optyks
Yeah my paint is currently trashed. hard water spots in ALL THE PLACES. Can we remove those?
Blue Shark
Optyks, why don't you talk to Aaron (Reflected Image) about a detail? He is a pro at getting things out. My sister dragged a huge cardboard / packaging tape box that was like 40 pounds off my trunk and he buffed about 96% of the scratches out. And he got out this huge gouge in the side of my bumper. It's amazing what buffing can do.

Blue Shark
Forgot to mention, when the huge scratches were in my trunk he buffed them in the middle of the night and it looks better than it did.
