long time ago on chads summer cruise I did 145 stock.

Something must have been changed. Stock governor is set to 138, I believe. (Don't have my laptop in front of me to verify but 138 seems right... I'll verify tomorrow... getting sleepy)

I'll be driving through Nevada this weekend for a wedding, we'll see what a stage 1 5th gen can do

Tons of cops, so careful. It's upsetting I haven't been past 85 yet in my car. From my points I don't want to risk it right now lol.

If my car was fast enough to speed, i'd get the Valentine One, lots of money but I've heard so many good reviews and all of the Gumball 3000 guys use them and don't get caught much.

But cops are switching to laser, does it detect Laser?

My escort passport 8500 x50 black is a pretty decent detector. Especially picking up the typical Ka band radar. Laser is pretty rare for NHP, from my experience. Yes, it does pick up laser, but unless you are in a group of cars and you get a warning from the laser bouncing off another car, you're screwed without a laser jammer, no matter what detector. I've only had laser hit me twice in the two years I've had the detector, and it was in a group of cars, so I wasn't speeding. Ka is very sensitive on the passport. usually a mile or two ahead of the hiding cop, if the road is fairly flat. It really has saved me at least a dozen times from serious tickets.

We'll see how it goes

Mine does the opposite to me. If I'm going 85 in a 65 and a hint of Ka goes off, I slow down, every time. But, I can see it going either way. If you get a lot of false alarms, you'll start to ignore it.

Everyone I know with detectors say they get more tickets because of the false security they give. Like he said, can't do shit against a laser. It's already too late once it's hit you.

I have an older, cheaper-ish Cobra radar detector that I've been using a couple years and it has saved me countless tickets as well.

Like Logan said, if you're pegged with a laser, all it does is really let you know you're fucked. Last ticket I got was a couple years ago, I was coming down into the canyon from Park City at about 95, slowed down because canyon to about 80, and a few hundred feet before one of the overpasses, BAM, laser. Slowed down, passed under it and saw lights turn on and the car race down the ramp.

I merged in front of a semi but apparently my evasive tactics don't work too well

But yeah, the typical non-laser bands being detected with it has helped me dozens of times.

Oh, that hill up there is emanating a specific K band? Sure, I'll slow down.

Ohai cop. I definitely wasn't speeding before I ran across you.
