"Bullet Proof" TMIC Kits
BarManBean replied to BarManBean's topic in Turbo Powertrains (2.0GT, 2.5GT, 2.5XT)
Picked things up from the shop just before skipping town for the holiday. I plan to inspect everything this evening and will mod the website to begin taking orders to ship out next week. I'll message as many folks as possible once the site is up again! -

Just another update. Material went to the shop early last week, estimate to complete was 2 weeks. As soon as I have the material back in hand I'll update the website to allow for ordering. -

6 months from now he will look at you like you're insane when you tell him to blow his nose--will have zero recollection of what that means or how to do it

I guess what we need is a vin number for a JDM car? -

Just installed mine. Thanks for the notes, Kalien! Only other tip I would add: the bracket locations are NOT approximate. There is a holed drilled on the inside of each visor that connects exactly with each clip. Make sure to start each visor in the correct location and then install secondary brackets likewise. -

I think the best would be for folks that have ordered parts to post up the part numbers. For example--anyone with a double din happen to have the original packaging with the subaru part number on it?!? -

I know. I tried to find a couple more part numbers to look for stuff but wasn't very successful and didn't have much time. Basically if you can find the OEM part number you should be able to find it. Problem is that a lot of the JDM vendors (avojdm for example) seem to use their own reassigned part numbers and obviously those don't show up. JDM parts catalog anyone? I found the visor part number searching here on the forum, IIRC. Was looking at buying a used set here, figured I'd make sure there wasn't something out there that was competitive on price for new stuff, and stumbled on partsouq FTW! -

Also, I had someone do a test and I will be modding the kit slightly to fit newer TMICs, like 15+ WRX, etc. Wheeee. -

Quick update: First, I suck. Sorry 'bout that. Second, I *finally* cleaned up my garage! Cut a bunch of stuff last night, decided it might not be enough so I'm grabbing some more material today / tomorrow and will have things over to the machine shop on Friday. As soon as I have a timeline from the machine shop I'll post another update and mod the website as well. Thx for everyone's patience and really sorry that I've been out of stock for this long :/ -
Hey Mike, I noticed that my setup developed a minor leak recently. At first glance it looked like the leak might have been from the connection on the front of the filter, but that nut is sufficiently tight. I loosened the bracket that holds the filter and when I slid it forward I found oil around the entire circumference of the filter. Looks like the leak might actually be from the seam that is there? I have not serviced the filter yet, maybe I'm due. I just tried to tighten the filter housing to hopefully solve the leak for now and it actually seemed to loosen / "jump" when turning righty-tighty--might not be designed to come apart really? Figured I'd quit and come ask here to be sure I don't damage the filter itself. Upon starting the car just now it does appear that the leak is worse--immediately a drop of oil found when touching the ground side of the filter after just a few seconds of running the car.

Monstorr, buddy of mine had his done by a local guy, but I don't think he was terribly close. He was fairly cheap tho I think. I'm sure IAG would do it. -
Good luck, KRB. I think we all just want happy / healthy kids. Hopefully you guys can help her through.

Bummed that I didn't order off eBay. Lesson learned for next time I guess.
