i made a revision on the angles of the bends , this allows more clearance for the stock mufflers . the plates that were previously vertical are now slightly angled in towards the middle of the car. gives about 3/4"of room for the stock floppy mufflers.

Now that's thinking out of the boxer!

Ok, so, any more news? Just got a couple of bikes fixed up so we may actually start biking as a family soon.. And, of course, need a hitch for the LGT and one for the Grand Caravan + carrier..

Any suggestions on carrier to carry 4 bikes (2 kids, 2 adults)? Any thoughts about this one? Price seems right..

I don't like those types of carriers because the bikes swing around and they only work with typical (i.e. not full suspension bike designs).

I had those when I was younger and my bikes always ended up getting scratched from them.

Unfortunately all the other options are a lot more expensive.

Something like this helps hold all the bikes securely. http://www.etrailer.com/Hitch-Bike-Racks/Pro-Series/PS63138.html

And because of the raise in the back, less chance of scraping your bike on the ground. There isn't a lot of ground clearance with these cars.
