Today I started it up and it began misfiring pretty badly...CEL came on...rant to Advanced ran a code and I had the P0203 and now a P0201... :/

Ran home swapped the coilpack I had lying around and reset the ecu. No hesitation under WOT and no CEL!! Stoked!! Finally feels like there might be light at the end of this tunnel as opposed to the train I keep envisioning...

Going to have the shop that built the block do a compression test and of all is good I'll be ready for a tune!! :)

Glad to hear your heading in the right direction.

If you have a laptop and any of the cheap vag com cables you can check your fuel trims, log and check cel's. Rather than running to auto parts store. i keep my laptop under my front seat and have a car adaptor for my laptop, anytime i get a cel i pull over and jack in.

I was just right there. Ran over to a friends and had him log it. There is still an intermittent mis on cylinder 1 that we believe is injector related. It went away above 1500rpms and there was no sign under wot.

Going to boost leak check I and get it to my tuner!!

  • 2 weeks later...

At this point I've still yet to hear from my preferred tuner. Might have to look elsewhere if I don't hear back soon.

In the meantime, I have decided to swap suspension set-ups in favor of Koni's and an Eibach Pro Kit. Should have everything in by the 15th and hoping to have it all on the car over that weekend. BC's are posted FS. Still piecing the OE stuff as I did not have any of the stock suspension with the car.

Saw your hunt for a spring/strut setup, glad you got it! I'd like a comparison to your bc's once you've ridden on them for awhile. Might be making the switch as well.

Got the rears assembled and struts are on the car!! Drive around the bloc] and the car feels like it makes far better contact with the road. This is likely to do with my poor alignment...in any case I'll be driving quite a bit this weekend so once the springs settle I'll give a more accurate review but this far they are stiff but surprisingly comfortable. It will be nice to get some different tires on it too...these are worn pretty heavily...

So far ride is immensely better. Hoping it gets a little more comfortable after they fully settle and an alignment but this far I'm thrilled!

How do you like the Eibach springs? I went back and forth a bit between those and the H&R's before getting the H&R/s for my wagon.

So far they're great! Ride is still stiff but comfortable. I think they will soften up a bit more with a few more miles on them. Going to wIt another week before playing with the alignment. Figure I'll swap tires at the same time and be done for winter.

Koni's are better and better each day! They are breaking in and are more and more confidence inspiring! There is definitely more body roll but I will be slapping on some sways come spring to combat that. :)

Picked up a ID Top Feed Conversion set-up, Perrin FPR and SS lines today. Lines and regulator came with side feed rails that I'll be looking to part with if anyone is interested. All sh9uld be in the mail today. :) I also picked up some Perrin Exhaust hangers and wrap for the exhaust. Driving a bit more I'd like a little less competition with the radio on the highway. lol

It's a love hate thing...it's what makes a Subaru a Subaru.

Really just trying to get things finished up before snow is a constant. Getting snow tires and an alignment done next week. And getting Dyno tuned Saturday...I've only ever done road tunes so I'm not really excited about the extra cash...but it's one of the top tuners in the area and he's far closer than normal. Him being somewhat local saves me about 4hrs of driving...

On my way to get a tune!! Been a long road...hopefully there are no other speed bumps today. I was unable to get my ID1000 set-up installed prior but I really wasn't planning to push much beyond the Capacity of the OE side feeds at this point...but that may change come spring. :)
