careercadaver
Picked up a set of DW850cc side feeds today, hard my tires balanced and set-up a time with my tuner for Saturday for a base tune...had a friend look over my tune last night and I'm just not comfortable with it... lgtvf52
Well that's good anyway your gonna need a re-tune for the bigger injectors anyway. But why aren't you comfortable with it?
careercadaver
Looking at the map it's very jagged. Looks like they were tuning around a problem. I had a friend look at it who's more versed in tuning an he was shaking his head the whole time. He said it looked like whoever tuned it did some thing right and other places it looked like he was guessing...it's running so rich that it looks like it flooded out cylinder 4 under WOT @ 4500rpm, MAF scaling was off, etc. I'll try and get the laundry list from him... careercadaver
Picked up a Whiteline LCA bushings to combo my RCK (figured it was best to do them while the LCA's were out), and a Mishimoto magnetic drain plug...
careercadaver
Well, unfortunately about a week and a half ago I had a fender bender with the LGT. My Yoko Avid's were not able to assist me stopping and, at 25mph, I slid for over 35 feet and made contact at about10mph...this resulted in about $4900 in front end damage...Needless to say I am buying some Blizzaks and Yoko likely has lost my business for good. What a joke for an A/S tire... On an up note...I am throwing a little bit of cash at it and swapping my front end for an 09 and will all be brand new OE parts. I also stumbled on a deal and traded some SpecB wheels, I picked up locally, for Zeal (Endless) Function X Coilovers!! ...trying to justify keeping them at this point but they will likely end up in the FS section near tax time... I want to throw them on to make sure they're something I wont regret selling and that they do not have need for a rebuild... They look sound, are super light and from what I've gathered are super legit...

careercadaver
I know! Trying to turn a negative into a positive. Debate on going JDM SpecB or even K2 but didn't have the extra cash. From the estimates thus far, after deductible, the entire conversion should cost me somewhere around $350-400.
leoh88
In my opinion the K2 looks a bit better than the JDM Spec B. It's a bit more M3'ish and that's always a good thing
careercadaver
^^ Very true. It always makes me think Mazda too. But I've seen in with both the 05-07 and the 08-09 headlights...so there's still hope... Only thing I have against it is it only comes in FRP. :/ I know it's probably not the same crap I used to see from AIT kits or anything but it still leaves something to be desired over poly... careercadaver
Well...I guess I get an 05 front end...just gonna save and go JDM. :/ Insurance company only would cover certain parts and it would have cost me 1800 additional plus the deductible... lgtvf52
That sucks since you wanted the 08 but the 05 is still a sexy front end
careercadaver
That sucks since you wanted the 08 but the 05 is still a sexy front end I hear ya. Just was looking forward to changing it up is all...I'll throw a lip on this spring and play with some aesthetics. Still need a proper tune, running a wastegate tune at the moment, still sorting out a few corners and dealing with this weather... :/ Swapped trunks over the weekend for a wingless...really liking the look. Smoothed it out quite a bit. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/02/10/ydyje9y8.jpg http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/02/10/saquvu6u.jpg
Legacsti11
Cool I did the same thing with swapping trunks for wingless. Then I kinda missed it a little so I put a Revv Lip spoiler on instead and have decided to stick with that... http://i1216.photobucket.com/albums/dd376/chchimpy/RearroofspoilerCF6.jpg http://i1216.photobucket.com/albums/dd376/chchimpy/RearroofspoilerCF7.jpg 05 Legacsti with toys, Efi Logics Tuned, Whitey Built
careercadaver
I swapped it with the intent of going with a lip spoiler in the future. Diggin the RRev stuff definitely has my attention but it's quite pricey...maybe he'll give me a package deal if I run most if his stuff. we'll see I guess! starionesir
I've got rrev's eye lids, grill, hood scoop, front spoiler, rear spoiler, and shifter trim. Also did his hid kit. He gave me a good deal with buying so much from him at the same time. Jason is very nice to deal with.
leoh88
I agree! I also have the front spoiler from R-Rev http://25.media.tumblr.com/25dd83bcc76d134b3ba6211d0dfb120d/tumblr_mxyb79Whvz1t63fi4o1_1280.jpg And the rear but i went with a different model from RRev in CF http://25.media.tumblr.com/d7a915aca09590656b8d28bccde577cb/tumblr_mxyb79Whvz1t63fi4o3_1280.jpg
careercadaver
Changed the oil and threw on a Mishimoto oil drain plug...nothing big but feeling like I wanted to update this anyways. A tiny bit of metal in the oil...but it's 1/16 of what was in the last bit of oil. Gonna change it again in 1k and go synthetic.
Legacsti11
I have had a few mechanics and few dealerships all say don't go synthetic for a oil change on our cars, they don't like it. You do what you want but don't say I didn't tell you so and do your research 1st. 05 Legacsti with toys, Efi Logics Tuned, Whitey Built

You do what you want but don't say I didn't tell you so and do your research 1st. Appreciate the heads up. To be honest I don't know anyone who doesn't run at least a synthetic blend in their subaru. I've read some of the debates...but always found them to be more hearsay than anything else.
Legacsti11
Np man, I would say just ask 2 or 3 subaru dealers service counters and see what they say. Talk to the service manager or a Subaru tech there. Best advice I could give is if it's a built motor and race car being driven hard go with shell rotella 15 W40, with 1qt of Lucas and Frame filter 3593A. If it's not all of the above then shell rotella 10 W30, with 1qt of Lucas and Frame filter 3593A. 05 Legacsti with toys, Efi Logics Tuned, Whitey Built
careercadaver
^^ Not built. Just a 257 bottom end with PnP'd heads. And in reference to the Subaru Techs...the local guys here know nothing of the turbo models. I explained to them that I was putting the STI bottom end in the LGT and got nothing but blank stares. I do have a couple buddies that are Techs for another dealership, however. I'll get their input but I'm pretty certain they are running Rotella or other synthetic/blend. careercadaver
Took off the Blizzaks today and threw on (for what I hope is the last season) my Yokohama AVID Envigor "A/S" tires...they don't feel bad on dry pavement but they were horrific in the snow. :/ I'll likely run them for a track day, if even just to destroy them, in the the fall. Considering plastidip'n my stockers tomorrow or next weekend. I'd like to do my calipers while everything is accessible...so I might just wait. A good buddy also has some front LCA's that I think we're gonna Whiteline out here soon as well...just gotta grab an ALK this week.
careercadaver
Bought a Whiteline ALK today...might just throw these Zeal coilovers on that I've been trying to sell while I'm rebuilding the control arms...cash would be better as I think I'd rather have some wheels... Gonna try and paint calipers and plastidip wheels this weekend...gotta swap turbos and get this thing tuned here soon too...
careercadaver
http://img.tapatalk.com/d/14/04/18/mudana9y.jpg Got her cleaned up a bit today...hoping I'll have time soon to really go after some areas that are bothering me... Picked up a Perrin turbo blanket this week and just ordered a set of front wheel bearings to replace while I throw the Whiteline stuff in...
